Justin Jones to the Cardinals:

Wondering if the staff is convinced that Dexter can take over as the starter. If nothing else, we're lacking DT depth overall. Either we sign a DT still out there, and there aren't a lot of them who have not already been signed, or we pick one up in the draft, or wait until team cuts begin in the summer.

Well sho nuff, the Pack announced that Jones will be cut. So much for that great 1-2 punch in the backfield.
Man, in review of Jones last 5 games with the Pack, including two playoff games, his rushing stats were off the charts:

Carries: 102
Yards: 584
Avg: 5.7
TD: 3
(all 3 in the postseason)
Fumbles: 0

He was playing hurt for much of the season and those final 5 games were the healthiest he'd been all year. Apparently the Pack felt there was only room for one primary ball carrier, so the younger Jacobs is it. But some team is going to benefit by picking up Jones.

There's some mocks pointing us to the DT from Texas. Haven't looked into his tape let but that's also a possibility

If this was the only day to sign FAs, I'd more than agree with you. And there were some key FAs who were on my radar, yet signed by other teams. Fortunately, others still remain on the board, so let's hope for a more productive day 2.

It's funny how in-division always pick up their rivals' scraps.

We get an old Lion.
Minny gets a Packer.
Eagles pick up a Giant.

...and so on...

Who's the old Lion you're talking about....Swift? He's 25 - is that your definition of old?
And scraps? Swift gained 1,049 yards rushing last season. Our top three RBs totaled 1,388. That makes him a scrap?
Kindly send me your Jiddy Book of Definitions. I need to brush up on my definitions.

Swift may not be "scraps" to us...but he most definitely is to a team replacing him with Saquon Barkley.

So long Mr.Mooney.....wish you well:

If it's the year 2 Mooney the Falcons are getting, he'll be worth every penny. If it's the years 1,3 & 4....they'll have a serious case of buyer's remorse.

That is my plan, but I was thinking more of a 3rd option in the depth chart.....
?

With Mooney leaving......DJ Moore is your #1 and no clear cut #2.

Tyler Scott and ESB are #4 guys on a good team, if that. Velus Jones has been a bust.
