He missed the first 18 games because of back issues that he dealt with his entire career.

He came back and broke his foot very soon after.

And for a 7 footer?

That can easily be half a season or more.

By that point, are you really saying the Spurs should have rushed him back with 15-20 games left?

Playoff chances were already gone.

Sit your star, let him fully recover and get ready for next season.

Every other team would have done exactly the same thing.

Nah, there's always a lack of effort/drive, drug addiction, etc... Plenty of opportunities to no be truly great.
But I get what you are saying.

and falling in love with shooting 3's. I acknowledge he's a pretty good 3 point shooter for a center, but that's not what he should be doing. I hope someday he gets a coach that parks him under the basket, and we start to see his stat line of 16-22, all dunks and 3 footers. Forget shooting the 3 young man. And get healthy soon.
