Are you or were you his agent?

Reach further why don’t we…
I am not his agent, no...not sure why anything I have said would imply I was. what are you even suggesting? Bird did not love the game and was happy to get out at age 36?

Guy came down with some back issues that maybe with fewer B2Bs might not have progressed as rapidly? It's not like docs are making up what they have learned and a reason B2Bs have been limited.

Wonder how legit it is

This is the team that mastered fake injuries for tanking to get Duncan

Not that I’m bitter or anything….
Not a Dr Or anything but I slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night and that tells me a blood clot is kinda serious.

If he was only concerned about money , it’s possible. But I highly doubt it!

You do realize that in the majority of cases where players miss games due to rest…

It is the team making the decision. Not the player.

If Bird were playing today, his organization would 100% use rest days to help him extend his career.

And there is a decent chance that between the 3 point usage and load management he would have been even better today.

I actually think he may know it's the team who makes this decision....but to admit it ruins his narrative so no way he acknowledges this fact.

I know you are right in a lot of instances, but truth be told unless it turns into a Ben Simmons situation the team is not going public against the player often. So we really don’t know.

We don’t know in most specific cases.

But we have enough data to know that teams often use this as a tool.

And a lot of the players who get rested don’t want to be rested.

Oh no doubt. I mean like right now with Chet they haven’t let him play 2 games in a row and I’m sure he wishes he could. Those instances it just makes sense. I think most people in the business, and a lot of fans know for the most part the guys that want to be out there no matter what. Those are the guys the team has to protect from themselves.

This is significant news

Fwiw...

I have a fair bit of addiction in my family group.

One family member in particular threw their life away (for awhile) on tramadol... supposed to be a "lesser" opioid, but this relation lost their job, family, and ended up in jail for many months because they couldn't stop abusing the stuff.

Thankfully, they're clean now... still: tramadol can be a b!tch, and Portis' excuse is hard to believe.
