Leflop is brain fartin every stinkin game he plays , whether it’s age or he just thinks he can get away with everything… I’m goin with the latter.

Again , I’m no hater of LeFlops career, imo , he is certainly not goin out on top as far as how he conducts himself mentally

22 seasons.

Not paying Luka is a ridiculous starting point.

Its already ugly from a fan standpoint.

Agree. Also agree with the notion folks have said that if Cuban were still running things...this trade never happens.

True. But I have a feeling that if they go into a rebuild in 2027 or 28 with no title...it may get uglier. Especially if the Lakers win a title in that time frame. lol

You guys and your supposedly qualifying comments afterwards lol. It's like saying "no offense" after a scathing comment.

He's averaging 24/8/8 on 51/37/77 shooting with a 2-1 assist/TO ratio at age 40. Find me another player that has EVER done that. That's arguably better than his career averages of 27/7/7 on 51/35/74 shooting and that same 2-1 ast/TO ratio.

Is he as explosive athletically? Of course not. But he's absolute freak of nature to still be performing at this level into his 40s nearing the most games played ever.

The Mavs need a strong offseason to fine tune this lineup. They lean too heavily to bigs at this point IMO, maybe move one f(Gafford?) or a scoring wing?

A Lakers title is a bit of an outlier IMO, since there are some pretty elite teams ahead of them this year (some of which are still proving themselves in big games/playoffs, but still). At some point the decline has to come for Lebron, doesn't it?

He sticks to the Lakers team board for his notorious brand of trolling.....LOL.

It is odd to see Dorian in the Laker forum so much. I don't venture into other team's forums much unless it's for a broader topic.

Lebron about to play the most games ever but hes soft...lol. no logic whatsoever.

MJ takes off damn near 5 seasons and hes a God in the eyes of his homers.
And then after a 4 season break he comes back and plays significantly less well than LeBron at the same age with no seasons off

Yeah, right now, if they were completely healthy, I think they'd have a solid punchers chance, especially if AD plays to his ability. Adding a scoring wing (3 and D type) would put them right in the mix, especially if OKC turns out to need a little more seasoning.

A Lakers title is a bit of an outlier IMO, since there are some pretty elite teams ahead of them this year (some of which are still proving themselves in big games/playoffs, but still).

The Lakers this year are a true "punchers chance" team. Right now, they're still figuring some things out which is why we're seeing some inconsistencies. If they all get on the same page by the playoffs and stay healthy...there really isn't a team I'd trust more in close games. Not saying they'd win...but I wouldn't hate their chances.

At some point the decline has to come for Lebron, doesn't it?

You'd think...but I've given up guessing when. lol

It's obvious that he's not the guy he was in Cleveland or Miami in the sense that he can't carry a team for long stretches like he could back then.

But somehow, he's still capable of being the best player on the floor in any game that he plays.

To me, the stupidity wasn't in the trade itself, but the ownership decision to intend to trade Luka while also keeping it quiet to avoid players and fans from revolting. That last part clearly didn't work lol.

Ownership really needs to have only a broad involvement and have a trusted PBO and GM combo to make the basketball decisions. It seems the guys that took over decided to make their stamp on the franchise and thought they were making a genius move. Clearly, they were ill-advised.
Ownership drove this trade though because they didn’t want to pay Luka. It was a money decision more than a basketball decision

Definitely and if they truly felt that he wasn't going to be worth an uber expensive long term deal...that's fine...but then they needed to do this trade in the off-season when even if they maybe didn't get a player of AD's caliber back, they could have gotten more draft picks, pick swaps and a couple of young players with upside.

But they wanted to do it "quickly and quietly" which meant they were never going to get the return they'd get if they did it "slow and loud". lol

I get the the prepoderance of evidence to clearly corroborate the fact the James' career has been stellar and def in the GOAT disucssions after 22 years. But what makes little sense is for James to now adopt this blatant flopping and traveling and glaring lapses in Defense that is far, far beneath a sterling career such as his.

Meh, they all flop...a lot. That's why the NBA has adopted rules to try to curb it. They aren't doing that over 1 player.

Lebron catches the amount of flak he does because he's been the face of the league for so long, he's terrible at it, he's too outspoken for some folks, he dares to be in the GOAT convo and the MJ guys are running out of arguments so they default to flopping (even though MJ did plenty of that himself).

And the traveling which also has become blatant, is that rampant too? To answer my own question, I believe traveling and palming the ball are becoming more prevalent and blatant, not only in the NBA but filtering down to even young kid's basketball. Plenty of examples.

On the surface maybe, but ultimately they traded for another max or near max player in AD. They just didn't want to pay Luka specifically. They couldn't see past his visual athletic appearance and off court tendencies. Does that make them anti-Euro? It seems if they had Jokic they wouldn't extend him either. They certainly couldn't read the room in terms of fan favorites.
