It's the randomness of sports. Some nights you just miss shots for whatever reason and then you give a little less effort and then it's a blowout and you move on to the next game.

Yep, I remember teaching my son to play basketball. He's a bit of a perfectionist (actually a lot of one lol) and he'd get frustrated because he'd shoot the same shot, the same way and some would go in, some wouldn't. One day, everything would go in, the next day, nothing would.

I'd tell him...that's just how it is in sports. It actually taught him some valuable lessons.

Randomness is very underappreciated in sports. We make narratives out of events that can easily go the other way.
