agree with a lot of this and love the deal.....but even if we did nothing I liked our chances against anyone (and, sure, any top team could beat us...and still can). I don't think loss to Cs at home without our top 2 wing defenders played any kind of role. They have liked Hunter for a whiile. This was a huge pickup for the Cavs imo
I didn't like our chances against any of the top teams without getting a wing tbh. They have a great record, but they were always missing that one wing player. Now i like our chances a lot better if we go up against Boston or OKC.
Ironically, Boston beating us at home probably motivated this trade, so glad that loss happened before the trade deadline
One of my friends in Atlanta sent me this text before it went down lol...We better not be giving up hunter for no dang levert
yep...also felt bad for the guys shipped out and, yes, team probably sad to see them go. But I'm sure they all get how things go.getting Hunter while getting under the tax line was a great move. I thought they would have problems adding to the team and I thought they would have problems getting under the tax line
they did both.
I feel bad for Niang and LeVert- they were well liked- but their is no doubt the team is more talented today and got the one thing they really needed- a big time wing defender. They didnt have to give up their 1st rounder they had to trade, or Tyson who looks pretty promising.
Hunter is under control for 2 more years- is a very good wing defender and is shooting the 3 at nearly 40%.
Garland
Mitchell
Hunter
Mobley
Allen
that is a helluva team. They got probably the best 3 and D guy that was dealt at the deadline and didnt have to give up any significant asset.
Still have a very nice bench. This lets Okoro become a weapon too since he isnt relied on for being the only defensive stopper.
Its wild- They have all these guys signed up- Garland, Mitchell, Hunter, Mobley, Allen, Okoro, Strus all signed up for at least this year and 2 more.
GM has given them a chance. We shall see. Hunter is the type of guy we needed.
If they can somehow get out of the east I think that move will help a lot with whoever they might play in the finals. It was a big move.agree with a lot of this and love the deal.....but even if we did nothing I liked our chances against anyone (and, sure, any top team could beat us...and still can). I don't think loss to Cs at home without our top 2 wing defenders played any kind of role. They have liked Hunter for a whiile.
Forgot to watch...was this the order of the draft? Left to right and snake style?Chuck
This gives the number each was picked at. Shaq taking Lebron first is interesting. Pretty ridiculous they let Chuck get the first 3 picks he did.Forgot to watch...was this the order of the draft? Left to right and snake style?
I could argue you the exact opposite. I think Dallas' offensive scheme will change without Luka. They will play more fast pace...more ball movement, less stagnant offense imoHe has no place on the roster now
I would prefer Nance Jr if he gets bought out. They need a real big but I think if they did add him. Save him for a Boston series and put him out there to be a defensive stopper. Very low minute guy regardless....all these buyout guysHow happy are you?
#execoftheyear#Cavs Koby Altman/FO since January 2021: Not too shabby....
- Traded Dante Exum + a pick for Jarrett Allen & Taurean Prince
- Traded Taurean Prince for Ricky Rubio- Drafted Evan Mobley
- Traded Nance for Lauri Markkanen
- Traded Ricky Rubio + picks for Caris LeVert
- Extended Darius Garland
- Traded Sexton, Lauri, Agbaji + picks for Donovan Mitchell
- Signed Ty Jerome & Max Strus (S&T)
- Extended Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen & Evan Mobley
- Traded Niang, LeVert + picks for De’Andre Hunter
If they have one of this for Griff in NO would it start with this....
*passed on Garland AND Hunter, traded down and took Jaxson Hayes?
Yeah I like steph and Brunson but over shai? Also noticed no Doncic unless missed him. Has he opted out due to injury and/or all the time he missed? This gives the number each was picked at. Shaq taking Lebron first is interesting. Pretty ridiculous they let Chuck get the first 3 picks he did.
