The Rockets have been rumored for KD as well. Makes some sense, since they have the Suns' draft capital. Rockets have been denying interest since this summer though.
I could see that, I was just blown away that it was rumored that the Thunder could give up Hartenstein, the guy that has kind of brought it all together. As for the Thunder, I’m quite sure Presti is looking at it like getting Chet back is better than any trade he could make. I would like to see a backup 4 but we will see.

Isn't that a good thing? The Sixers are a mess.

If Lebron continues playing, that window shifts. I'm not moving players out just for assumed cap space (other than maybe to get under the 1st apron (Kleber) when we don't know when Lebron is done. Getting Luka could prolong his career by taking some of the load off his shoulders.

Lebron expires that summer too

Right.

And what those picks are determine if it is worth doing for Phoenix.

Which is the point I was making

I've seen discussions elsewhere talkng about them getting Kuminga somehow in the deal, which could mean two separate trades as I indicated. Only real way for that work.

But sure, it would have to be draft capital otherwise. Is that worth now having two albatross contracts in your starting lineup? Butler would be almost as immovable as Beal once he gets his big extension at his age.

Lebron is likely to continue to sign 1+1 contracts every summer until he decides to retire. Flexibility if nothing else.

I've given up guessing when he'll retire, and I doubt the Lakers front office will assume he's retiring after next season until he tells them exactly that.

Well, I would hope Phoenix isn’t dumb enough to extend Butler after trading Durant.

That would be pretty stupid

That's the key reason Butler wants Phoenix; they've more or less promised him his big extension this summer.

But also guessing that was back when they thought they could move Beal for Butler and keep KD

yeah, get some picks from GS

Get your future back from Hou via booker trade

Let Bradley Beal be Cactus Jordan poole

and start rebuilding your future

It's a shame that Grayson allen for Nnaji and Sarics doens't work. Denver might give up their 31 first for it (protected probably but still....a first)

the last line is the most important one though.

this is what they do. And it's why they are where they are post dame

I’m not mad at them. Billups job was on the line so no way in hell would or should tank. Give me an ext and I’ll consider it
