I just don’t see how swapping out KD for Butler helps them. We will see I guess. Durant already ruled out tonight with an “injury” but everyone knows the score.

It doesn’t in the sense of making them a better team.

But if they get assets for moving KD, maybe they get something from Miami for taking Butler too.

Also, GMs make dumb moves sometimes. Facing internal pressures we don’t know about.

Isn't that a good thing? The Sixers are a mess.

If Lebron continues playing, that window shifts. I'm not moving players out just for assumed cap space (other than maybe to get under the 1st apron (Kleber) when we don't know when Lebron is done. Getting Luka could prolong his career by taking some of the load off his shoulders.

There's only a 3M difference between Butler's and KD's contracts. Suns can't aggregate salaries, so they can only bring back a $3M player (and draft assets).

Unless they can put together a second trade to move Nurkic to the Warriors for pieces as a "wink-wink" separate deal, it would just be Jimmy and picks.

It is a fantasy trade.

Would they win a title with that roster?

Maybe.

But don’t think more likely to win with the current one.

They do need to make some depth moves though, IMO. Keep the core in tact, add a quality big or maybe another shooter.

The Rockets have been rumored for KD as well. Makes some sense, since they have the Suns' draft capital. Rockets have been denying interest since this summer though.
