I agree TJF12. Maybe Myles Turner is the better of all three trade options. Only if they can get Indiana to take less than a First Rounder and some players like JHS, Reddish, and whomever else the Lakers throw in.

Kessler is the obvious First Choice for the best trade but the Lakers are not going to give up their First Rounders. So perhaps we have an old-fashion stand-off that will lead to nothing getting done and that is when the Lakers just have to accept they are not getting the player they want THIS YEAR.

He has talent. He's not going to be an all-star, but if he's allowed to develop, he should be able to become a serviceable NBA player.

He's quick, fast and can jump out of the gym. Biggest concerns are that he's only 6'2", his offense is pretty inconsistent and the expectations that his name brings.
If he can be a defensive stopper he can be a Gary Payton II type, a useful player

Well their season is over.

Should probably consider firing Kenny.

And maybe trade everyone and start all over.
If you go into some Cavs' forums some pretty much do want to trade everyone (other than maybe Mitchell who has been in a shooting slump).

Will say since most were extreme JB critics no one says anything bad about the coach who apparently invented the sport.

I say this as someone who likes the guy....but had we lost these last few with JB as coach would have been all the coach.

Who out there is worth both those 1st rounders (that are by Shams and Windy's accounts very valuable)?

And that will make that much of a difference on the Lakers and their season.....

Only someone that is a perfect fit and young enough to still be contributing when those picks are realized. Walker Kessler is worth one IMO. So is Myles Turner (who is still being rumored as available without any real confirmation). Just one pick though, not both.

If Fox was made available, he would be worth both picks for the Lakers.

Yeah, they could do something like that. Although, Gabe Vincent is starting to look more like the Miami version. If he keeps it up, they may not need another guard.

I think they still need another defensive guard or 2/3, like Bruce Brown. Christie could use help, either to back him up or perhaps take the big minutes if and when they hit the playoffs. Expecting Christie to handle crucial playoff minutes may prove foolish IMO.

Disagree.

I like Knecht too. But Kessler provides exactly what the Lakers need and he's only 23 (same age as Knecht). Having Kessler means AD plays the 4 which is what he did a lot when the Lakers won in 2020 because they had Dwight. In fact, he'd be able to play the 4 almost exclusively because Kessler is a starting quality center and Dwight wasn't anymore.

It wouldn't really hurt the depth either because Rui would just replace Knecht coming off the bench.

That works in reverse too. Knecht is more positionally valuable (can play the 2) and Rui holds the much higher salary for matching purposes, depending on the deal. With Vando back, Rui's role may be shrinking anyway.

If Turner is truly available, he should be target #1 for the Lakers, with Kessler #2. A 3&D center is a perfect fit next to AD.

For Kessler, yes. Unprotecting that 2027 1st also gives the Lakers back that 2027 2nd for trade purposes (it's currently the fall back should the top 5 protected 2027 1st not convey).

If Utah wants Knecht, that would ideally decrease what draft capital would be included. Just for salary purposes, Wood would be a match but obviously doesn't hold the same value as Knecht upside wise.

If you deal knect in a kessler deal you might

Vincent you may need just because he’s one of the few plus defenders you have

That lack of defenders is the trade need beyond Kessler. Bruce Brown seems a great fit.
