Idk what the heat want

You’re not gonna be contenders trading jimmy butler

You are not going to have cap space trading jimmy butler

Best case to me is you get a Brandon Ingram out of the deal, but again, where does that leave you?

Best case is you trade him and keep your lottery pick. Trade that with future picks and some aggregated contracts for a star to replace him

But that is all easier said than done and no guarantee at all

He only wants Phoenix because that's the only team willing to give him the max deal he is seeking. I wouldn't mind Ingram for the remainder of the season. Jimmy should get in shape because the Heat got a big one next friday night

Yeah

He’s gonna end up like harden, opting in after seeing the lack of cap space out there

what Cav fan said the Cavs are on verge of a dynasty?

I'm pretty sure Trojan mentioned one for Cavs/Thunder but was not serious.....I did say I'd be down with it. Not sure what else you saw that made you cry homer.

and, sure, we have homers here....but this was not a reflection.
yah no Cavs fan (that I know at least) is saying anything about a "dynasty"

to give the OP the benefit of the doubt- it looks like the Cavs and Thunder are loaded with good young players- and at least for the Cavs- signed up for years to come- and likely to be around the top of the standings for a while.

Now- only 1 team wins a title- and its not guaranteed that either of them win it- but I think its pretty clear that the Cavs and Thunder each had solid runs of relevance not too long ago- and both have rebuilt and are ready for new runs- while a lot of other teams stay perpetually mediocre/suck.

Its a testament to the management of both teams that - as teams that are not premier free agent draws, are able to consistently have sustained runs of success, bottom out, and then pretty quickly (for NBA standards) re-establish themselves as teams you dont want to fuck with.

unless they can trade trade, and take back no long term salary, and get Robinson to decline (which I dont know why Robinson would decline his 20M player option since hes not getting anything close to that), they wont have any cap room next summer.

if they take back a guy like Beal they bust any type of cap room for at least the next 2 years.

You basically ride out next year and end up with beal expiring next summer with 3 firsts to trade to land a star

Riley is what? Gonna be 80 in May? Not sure how much time he has left. I think a lot of the issue for the Heat is Riley wants to win ASAP. How many more years is he really going to be there?

They are not without talent- Bam and Herro are pretty good places to start, but until they kind of clear the decks around those 2, I just do not see them being a legitimate team that has to be worried about.

This could end up being nice for Dallas when they eventually get healthy. Role players coming into their own and Grimes is playing some nice ball lately. We already know they are clear contenders when healthy
