Russell, Ingram and Randle (3x) have all been all-stars, as well as Garland (would've been the #4 pick had LA kept the pick). Dyson Daniels is also part of that trade, as is one more 1st rounder TBD (this summer or next). Lonzo was derailed by injury of course. KCP was on those pre AD teams, as was Josh Hart, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, Alex Caruso, Jordan Clarkson, Gary Payton II, and Larry Nance Jr. Let's not pretend the roster was not loaded with young talent.

You can’t just assume the Lakers would have picked the best available player.

In fact, I doubt they pick Garland with Lonzo already there.

I understand that they have a couple guys who are low end all stars.

What OKC has in considerably better than that.

And you know this.

Because Shai is worth 4 Randle/Ingram types.

And I believe most any GM is taking Chet and JDub over those guys too if picking today.

In fact, I think it is a no brainer.

I could be wrong…

But pretty sure this convo started because one of the Laker fans tried to compare the Laker young talent to OKC’s

And in the same conversation people are calling @thunderc a homer.

Which I find hysterical.

I don’t really think there ever was an actual question, those are rare around here. Occasionally we get one between the tantrums and the Celtic claimers.

Oh I am a homer, especially when my team is playing well. I try to call things like I see them though, I mean I called Baker Mayfield an idiot when he was still at OU lol.

I think you guys are using hindsight on ball and Ingram

Ball and Ingram early on smoked Wallace and jwill as prospects

People really forget how good ball was due to all his injuries

And Ingram never developed a lick of defense

That is on him and the coaching staff due to his size and athleticism

Ball is just a tragic story

I am definitely using hindsight.

I am projecting OkC players vs. what Lakers have proven to be.

Ok.

I’m talking about how they were perceived on the same timeline

Since that’s what I thought the convo was about

Also don’t forget they had the 4th pick and traded that in brow deal

Could’ve been garland

And will balls height could worked

Now that I’ve had to defend the lakers I need to go bath in bleach…maybe light a match

Oh, I agree you can certainly be a homer.

No doubt.

But that was the ultimate pot meet kettle moment there.

Lakers had a lot of talent.

It didn’t all pan out, and the guys who did didn’t blossom until they left LA.

But it doesn’t matter because they turned that talent into a title.

Nah.

That isn’t why Cleveland lost.

People forgot what a mess that year was with Blatt at the helm.

They weren’t going to win that Finals series.
I disagree. Lebron took them to 6 games w/o Love and Kyrie. Kyrie was obviously the bigger injury but with them both they definitely have a very good shot.

Regardless, a dirty play
