When it’s draft and cap related, you usually are.

I’m not always onboard with your trade ideas.

But, you have been right more often than not.

So….yep.

Much appreciated

Yeah no one bats 1000

I can eat it that guys I liked failed. It happens

Yeah trades are challenging cause you gotta think from both sides

Usually it’s about the theory or the role (plus what teams will trade) more than any specific player

Curious where you were on Jalen Williams? @Mecca was all over it.

I called him as a riser before the draft

Didn’t expect anyone else to listen

I think I had him going to Atlanta at 16

Well, Sixers can’t win games without Embiid on a night when Maxey has 12 after 3 Qs. Morey needs to make something happen.

Well, the Lakers played with their food and it almost bit them back.

Kept a double digit lead all game. Then at the end of the 3rd quarter and through the 4th, decided defense was optional.

D-Lo played well overall, but late in the game with Charlotte making a run he has AD and Rui in the paint but jacks up a 3. :L

:: takes deep breath ::

Ok so he's right about some of this, but not all of it.

The numbers are wrong. Max deals were not 12m back then. It's not 2003. It was 2011.

(Random fun fact: those "monster Tmac and grant hill max deals in orlando started at under 10m....crazy).

The problem with the Chris Paul deal was at the end.

The new cba after the lockout they didnt' want these things, but at the same time you can't be losing players for nothing.

The issue was that the nba set up a chinese wall between the NBA and the Pelicans (then hornets, but we'll call them the pelicans to avoid any confusion).

The Pelicans GM was told, and the rest of the league was told, that he had full authority to make a deal because if the nba got involved it would look improper as if the league was detrmining where to trade Paul...which would be bad.

And they basically ended up doing that.

They never should've stepped in.

Demps deal aged better tjhan expected as if you look at that list, most of those guys ended up getting flipped for a first. Dragic went for 2 firstrs IIRC.

He could've ended up with like 6 well spaced out firsts out of the deal.

The lakers may have had cap space to make another add, but it wasn't going to be 2 guys like Arenas said, plus they needed to max out Paul anyway.

Stern jumping in there was a huge issue because frankly, once he stopped that trade they should've just made them sit on paul to avoid the impropriety that happened after the fact.

Demps also likely should've resigned after what Stern did as well.

It was a total and complete clusterf*ck.

yea I was gonna say (I just went back and looked) his numbers are bullshit. They ended up with Howard but they couldn't have had Howard, Kobe, Paul and 2 other max guys. Especially signing them under the cap.

Cap was 81 million or so

Kobe was 25
Paul was 15
Howard was like 15

So THAT number is like 26 mil under. So how the hell you building a team AND signing both Lebron and Bosh lol

They ended up with Nash because dude signed for like 5 million.

End of the day it's actually hard to believe that even semi washed Nash with Howard Kobe and Gasol wasn't a good squad (and Metta). But oh well.

The league owned the Hornets and it wasn't a deal in the interest of the league.

what did i miss today?
Lakers youth had they not traded it for AD vs Thunder youth.

When the consensus was Lakers youth fell short, @DJ played the “ We won a chip using all that youth to trade for Davis and your team doesn’t have a ring “ card.

He ain’t wrong.

But, I don’t think that was the debate.

It’s impossible to even make a fair comparison…imo

How the fuck can you try to rate Lonzo based on his draft projection knowing his injury history over the last few years?

I loved J Dub at Santa Clara.

But, I didn’t think he would be ……THIS…so soon.

Nash, Kobe, Gasol and Dwight didn't work mainly because Nash was 38, but his back was 98 and Dwight didn't want to be there and played like it. Although, to be fair, he had some back issues as well, if memory serves.

If I’m comparing OKC to anyone, it’s probably Memphis.

Stud Guards in SGA and Ja.

Long, Athletic , post playing 3 and D guy playing Center but better suited at the 4, Chet and JJJ.

Surprise player that got a chance to start because of injuries, which allowed him to develop much faster than anticipated and now you will never get his ass out the starting lineup, Bane and J Dub.

Clarke always injured, Giddey kinda an awkward fit….

Great young Coaches.

Let’s just hope Chet doesn’t forget how to rebound and doesn’t start fouling every other play and that nobody invites Shai to the gun range.

7 RPG a game for 7'1 dude ain't great since his the center. Not a KD situation where he is playing SF

The Lakers were hosed either way with Bynum or Howard ultimately. But like I said his numbers don't jive. they end up keeping Gasol who only made 3 mil more than Paul and signing Nash for 5. I'm not sure how that 3 million would've made any kind of difference.

I think hes generally going to be a pretty poor (for his size) offensive rebounder. And if it's me I'm okay with that. His frame doesn't hold up to that beating

He is exerting his energy on the defensive side away from the ball. He's making his mark there.

I know Garland is ramping up but dealing him for a more complimentary piece seems like a no brainer.

But I don't know the temperature in the room with Mitchell. Maybe that's why you keep Garland and hope it all works better
Yeah he has a minute restriction but the team is loaded and rolling with Mitchell. Obviously if you can get a wing for him you deal him. It won’t happen though
