I highly doubt kuminga falling on it was the kill shot

Seems more like if anything it just made it clear something was wrong

was that the same knee from before?

(nope it was right)

Oden was never going to be Embiid but he'd have been fun to watch on the defensive end. Ceiling was probably Gobert.

We see this happen time to time though. At least he has hope and it isn't a Bo Jackson type situation.
That Portland squad would have been interesting with Roy, Oden, and Aldridge. If Oden and Roy could stay healthy.

It was the kill shot on a knee that was always wonky. Menisci are the cushions in the knees around the bones ligaments and joints. He’s had numerous issues with them in both knees. This time around Kuminga jumping on his leg really was the kill shot. The history of the knees though says that if it wasn’t that night, it was likely coming on another night.

That’s why I’m saying just end his season now and do this right. This season is already lost. I’d be elated if the Sixers can stay top 6 in the East without Embiid. 6 seed is likely a path through Bucks, Knicks, Celtics. I’m not seeing it. Use the deadline to position things for next season. This one is over.

Yeah you don’t gotta tell me.

I’ve had like 5 meniscus tears

I had a double tear in college due to my teammates being morons

I have almost no cartilage in my left knee because of it

Additionally, if Embiid does rest and rehab and puts off surgery until after playoffs he probably loses the Olympics.

Man, that arthritis can’t be fun. Has that set in yet for you or is that what’s coming down the pike?

Shutting it down for the sixers and then playing in the Olympics isn’t a great look either

No win situation

Seems way too early to call it one way or the other. But at the risk of repeating myself I don't think we will ever really see a fully healthy Embiid come the playoffs. Damn shame because he's a top 5 in the league talent...obviously. Best ability is availability and all that.
I said if Embiid is hurt for the playoffs they need to trade him in the offseason. I think they would get a ton for him regardless but more teams flinching bc he is always hurt

That’s down the pike fortunately

Imagine how cranky I’ll be with a truly bum knee….

Experience has taught us that the man is going to be hated on and criticized regardless of what he does. In part, him being on the floor at Golden State was him giving that noise around him too much power over decision making.

You know I’m as big of a homer as there is and I wouldn’t begrudge the man what will likely be his only chance at a gold medal to instead prioritize another year of 75-80% Embiid for another early exit in the playoffs.

What is your take on this @fightinfunbags?

Don’t think his trade value will ever be higher than it will be this summer.

Has to be on the table I'd think if so.

The tough thing is that trade takes balls of steel...because it can totally blow up in your face.

Hell no! Poker players would say that the Sixers are pot committed. They could get a haul of picks and young players and none of them will ever be as good as Embiid. They need to keep at it and hope for a little luck that one time it actually works out.

There’s a lot that can be done with knee replacements these days. They last longer too.

And keep watching him on the bench during the playoffs. His peak value is now, maybe they can wait until 2025 offseason
