Looking at their contracts I can't see much the sixers would want aside from Giddey (obviously and would be super ironic) given that Bertans still has another year (yuck) and Dort works better for the OKC timeline. I guess if you had Dort/Giddey and Bertans got sent off somewhere else with a boatload of picks heading Philly's way in a 3 team deal.

Maybe Giddey and another piece with Dort and Bertans going to that team idk...

Or they come off Kawhi Jr lol.

It depends on the return. The one huge plus is it would be the biggest trade in NBA history, most likely. They could literally just ask for 10x over the moon and then if they don’t like it. Keep him. At least explore serious conversations imo.
They could probably get a young star in the making, borderline AS player, role player + a ton of picks. If it’s a package you don’t necessarily start over with and you can build around Maxey to compete soon, you have to think about it. I wouldn’t trade him to the East too…unless it’s Cleveland

Let’s see what this team looks like with Maxey being given the keys and being the number one guy on the opposition scouting report and not being propped up by the gravity of Embiid with relation to the defense. I just think Embiid and Maxey represent to each other the best running mate they’ll each have in their career.


I’ll also own the fact that Embiid is my guy! I want to win a championship but I really want to win one with Embiid. It’s been a torturous road and if it ever pays off, it’s a Disney movie. Dude doesn’t pick up a basketball until he’s 15-16 years old. Takes a leap of faith and leaves his home country and then works himself into being a player despite injury setbacks all along the way. While dealing with his first two years being lost on the court due to injuries he also had to deal with the tragic death of his brother and hero Arthur. It’s gonna be a beautiful outcome if this man ever gets to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy.
