it's impossible to say honestly.

I agree with you for the most part...I think Lebron always being questionable is bullshit. He's too big of a draw for that shit. And I defend Lebron on most everything..

Obviously holding Embiid out for Denver would have been the right thing they just called it too late. That's probably a one off with Joel being stubborn and wanting to play.

When he fell against Indiana that fall looked worse than the Kuminga play i thought.
I’ve tried to hold my tongue on this because I know it just comes off as belly aching and bitching. At the same time, it’s true. I’ve followed Embiid enough to know he’s got strengths and deficiencies when it comes to his character. The entire basketball world raked him over the coals for missing the 2023 game in Denver. Aspects of NBA media have run with this ducking narrative in part because of the way the Sixers schedule fell with him being healthy for a stack of the schedule with dookers, multiple games against teams like Detroit Washington and Charlotte. They’ve come at the man and questioned his character and integrity.

I’m not famous. I don’t know how these guys do it. Imagine living your life and going on to social media and seeing awful shit said about you? Imagine clicking channels and seeing an NBA show and Kendrick Perkins fat ass is saying you play or you’re soft? Embiid is human and he hears that noise.

The media in Denver has been the absolute worst on this and have fueled this narrative. There’s nothing any one can say to me that’s going to change my mind that the Denver circumstance, not being on the injury report, etc… was a product of Embiid wanting to squash that narrative.

My biggest fear through all of this is Morey. This son of a bitch is on shaky ground with his job status coming into this year. He’s gotta be tempted to go do something silly to make up for the Embiid loss. “Crazy” would be a move like signing up for 4 more years of Zack Lavine for $40 million a year to help them win games during Embiid’s absence.

Darryl needs to look long term with these expirings. Pre-Embiid uncertainty, I wanted to hold on to Tobias Harris. Now I’ve done a 180. You don’t officially punt on a season but this team isn’t winning a championship with a compromised Embiid who will be playing at 75/80% this post season. If you can package Harris with picks I want to see them take on pieces with an eye on next year. As @The Q has pointed out, the FA class this summer isn’t exactly impressive. Use the expirings now to bring in pieces around Embiid/Maxey.
Harris is better than LaVine. I don’t think they can get enough to make it worth. I mean I guess if you trade Harris and picks. What does that get you? Lavine isn’t worth that. You have to go higher up the totem pole

The players association had to approve it, I don’t know what else to say.
I agree with that statement and I added further context as to why we can’t claim “the players approved it”. In reality, the players weren’t consulted.

Who else fits the bill as an attainable guy that can help replace 35 PPG? I agree on the value of LaVine vs Harris.

I said at the time that the three best FAs to truly become FAs could easily be Harris, harden, and melton

That could still be true

It would probably be multiple players. Grant and Brogdon-maybe you only give up one pick idk. Just off the top of my head. I would say someone like Marrkkanen and salary. He could fetch multiple picks

Mark in Utah but trader Danny gonna want a haul.

He could play with Embiid when he returns.

I think a little more of the players organization than that. I have to think they have a system that lets players express their thoughts before anything is agreed to.

if it was me I'd very rarely do social media and would probably have someone manage the twitter posts so I don't get lost in that bullshit. I would post and only respond to posts my guy told me to respond to. That way he or she filters the negativity out. KD gets lost in it lol. I don't know how he has the time.

I wouldn’t have a problem with either of those deals to be honest. I don’t think Markk is attainable. He looks like a great contract and a piece that Utah can use in their rebuild.

I swear KD would be here if he knew about the place. Or is he? Hmmm.

I don’t. I think with the exception of the MLB all of these player’s unions are weak and get run by the league offices. The best thing I can say about the NBA players union is that they aren’t as bad as the NFL players union.
I have to think they have a system that lets players express their thoughts before anything is agreed to.
This is just assumptive. Do you have any kind of facts or info about what this process is and actually looks like?

It was part of the last CBA

I think that’s easy for us to say from the outside. At 12 years old, my Catholic faith had me committed to being a virgin until I was married. At 15 years old, I fucked the first girl I had a chance to fuck haha. I couldn’t not look at that stuff knowing it was out there. I know my loved one wouldn’t help either sharing stuff with me. Their intent wouldn’t be bad. They just wouldn’t understand that in order for this model to work you can’t indulge in any of it.

KD is another great example of a guy who is impacted by all the narrative stuff. Again, I just think that’s human nature.

Yeah, I saw his comment the other day about wanting to be somewhere that valued him.

IMG_3962.png

Here’s my idea from the other day. Do you think this flies? @shopson67 thought it was too cheap and would require another first. My argument was that they are getting value in clearing cap in a rebuild here so 1 first for Brog makes sense and it’s cap relief and a 2nd for Grant who I think most of the league sees as a questionable contract.

Do we have any posters that have been Thunder fans that became Warriors fans that became Nets fans that became Suns fans?
