The GOAT debates always devolve into discrediting and downplaying other candidates, pretty toxic. Trying to do so across generations is futile IMO due to the vast differences in money, health/athleticism, rule changes, free agency, etc.

Not to mention different coaches, teammates, positions, competition. There's no way to definitively 'prove' it. But that's also part of the fun, endless sports debates. Without sports debates would sports even be much fun?

I'll take it as did not think this one would be easy at all. Nice games by Allen and Levert, too. Gotta keep beating the lesser teams until Mobley and Garland return.

Any truth to the rumor about the Nets trying their best to work out a trade with the Cavs, and perhaps with a 3rd party, to bring Mitchell to Brooklyn?

I wouldn't buy it but anything possible. My guess is he is not going anywhere this year and will be offered an extension in the offseason. Don't sign it? Then he'll be moved. I've never heard him say anything to imply he does not love it here and his teammates. I mean, the guy was ecstatic when he heard he was coming and who was not being moved in the deal for him.

I guess he could be moved during the season if made an offer we cannot refuse but not sure why the Nets would do that as to do that they'd likely be left with a depleted roster and one he would not want to stay with longterm.

except that Bill Russell is the most overrated player in sports history.

But you can’t say with a straight face that he is a lock to be one of the 3-5 best players in the world.

I hear ya and I see these daily. Have seen more rumors that he'll extend here but who knows if that happens. Gave you my opinion on the matter.....not hard to offer a baseless rumor and it's kind of easy to be a reporter these days. Not like they have to be accountable and likely just make things up hoping something sticks and gets clicks

Like most big deals my guess is IF he gets moved it's to somewhere that was not expected.....like when he was dealt here and not NY.
