Yep.

As well as he's playing, Chet at the 4 makes better sense.

I think @thunderc and I spoke about Capela or Claxton to OKC a bit this Summer.

But, if they wanted to make a sexier move, this and the shit ton of picks can get such a deal done.

If the Thunder decide to go that direction, it has all of the resources to do so. It has Davis Bertans and Vasilije Micic's combined $27 million to match salary, countless draft picks and a talented young player in the form of Josh Giddey.

I just don’t see Presti going that route just yet, but there is no one that knows what he is going to do. I don’t see him trading Giddey at this time though.

If he's serious, might be coming up on a new staff lineup soon. Makes zero sense to start with a heavy defensive lineup, then the second team comes in with no defense. Balance that crap Ham.
Why I wanted a HC with experience....

@Mecca the Thunder are reported to be working on a trade to get Wendell Carter Jr. Thia seems more like a Presti move but who knows.

Lakers are said to be the leader to get Murray but the Hawks are reported to be holding out for Reaves to be included in the deal.

scoring is a touch up from back then lol
Very very true. 2 different eras and Iverson was doing that as the number one guy on the scouting report. We’ve seen Maxey with Embiid out when he’s number one on scouting report with mixed results.

Come playoff time, I don’t see a ton of real powerful 5s like Embiid they would have to face in the West. They may be able to survive the lack of a true defensive 5. You gonna sweat Nurkic posting you up with KD Beal and Book on the floor? Shit, I’m begging the Suns to do that. T’Wolves gonna post Gobert? Thank again. Jokic can bring Chet down into the weight room but again, I think the Nuggets are better when he can face up from perimeter instead of back to basket on the block so again…thanks opponent for playing left handed seeking a matchup.

Man, if they’re going this direction for a 5 why not kick the tires on an Andre Drummond? Less expensive.

He’d be a nice piece for them for sure.

You’re probably trading low on the Giddey asset right now anyway.
His play has been down a bit this year, that would be the only reason for that. There are reasons that he would be the guy to go though. On the court he is definitely the 4th guy and he is extension eligible after this season. They can back things up a bit if they want.

Just doesn’t seem to be Prestis style. If he trades for Carter that likely means he wanted him out of College for whatever reason. He may flip a switch and change at some point though, that seems to be what most think he should do. .

I've always found it bizarre he can't find a role. Drummond was a plus 10 on/off in 18 19 with Detroit. Then they shipped him off for nothing and his fit in Cleveland was nothing short of atrocious. Since then he's carried a positive on/off in most situations.

Idk if you can peg him as a starter on a good playoff team but he certainly seems valuable enough for 15 to 20

I can't wrap my brain around why teams deal with LA. Further if they trade away all their depth (again) it's just more of the same.

Hate to lose Reaves and would try everything to keep him, but end of the day, I don't let that keep me from making the trade.

I just don’t really like the player in question here. Young is great I just don’t see the upside on Wendall Carter Jr. Drum is inexpensive and a vet. It keeps them on track with having assets after they see what they need in the playoffs and you give them another vet presence in the locker room with a guy who can give them rebounding and on ball defense vs most 5s freeing Chet up to roam. Drum becomes a basketball experiment. What does it look like with Chet at 4 next to a 5 that only exists for those stated purposes and isn’t gonna demand a ton of shots.
