Demanding a lot in return for their players so they could not deal them and they are 1 or 2 games out of the playin with a roster that doesn't have a #1 or a bunch of talent.
Shit organization

Didn't watch a single second of the entire weekend live. Watched highlights of the dunk contest and even that was a waste of my time.

I almost never miss the 3 point and dunk contests, but UFC 298 was on at the same time this year.

If you accept the fact that you're not gonna get a real, competitive game... some of the stuff is actually fun.

Like Dame taking and hitting two half-court 3s... fun.

Or Luka trying a self alley-oop and failing... fun.

Or Haliburton hitting five 3s in a row at the start of the game... fun.

I mean... I'd rather the game was competitive too. But if you accept it on realistic terms, last night wasn't half bad.
These guys are no better on the whole than guys I saw playing real basketball. Entitled bitches.

Clippers glaring weakness is size and length. Teams with size and length bother them..... Don't see how that changes in the playoffs.

Yeah, solid chance it gets worse in the playoffs because the game slows down a bit and becomes more physical. Size and length is why the Lakers have managed to beat them twice this year.

Having said that, the Clippers do have shooting and playmaking advantages over pretty much anyone they're likely to face. They can run the floor and score in the midrange and 3 point line. When they face teams that have that length advantage, it'll come down to who can force their style on the other the most.

Agree. I don't watch any All-Star game expecting to see a highly competitive game.

I don't expect them to take the All-Star game as seriously as they apparently did in the early days of the NBA when they weren't making any money and that All-Star check actually meant something...

but I would like to see them go back to what Barkley was talking about when they would spend the first 3 quarters showing off before actually trying to win in the 4th quarter.
This requires the game to be close entering the 4th lol

I'd rather they just vote on all-stars, then use the days off to break up some of the back to backs throughout the season. Make 3pt/dunk contests part of draft weekend or the lead in to the finals or something.

All this weekend was for me was a void of real NBA games. At least Lebron rested, but it would've been better for him to announce that in advance to allow a substitution for a snubbed player (like Sabonis for example).

First of all, f her. The issue is the money has overcome the competitive spirit. That’s it period.

I mean, that's pretty much what she said. With salaries where they are, there really isn't an amount of money that will make the game meaningful.

If the ASG is going to be competitive at all, it has to come from the players. It would be nice if they showed off for 3 quarters, then tried to win in the 4th like they used to. That was when "conference pride" and "shit talking rights" kicked in. lol

Not necessarily. I mean, it has to be closer than it was last night lol

but we've seen ASG's where teams have come back from double digit deficits going into the 4th quarter. If memory serves, one of the Team Lebrons did that a couple of years ago.

Yeah the 3 quarters thing had kind of become the norm from back when the whole game was fairly competitive. Now the norm is a 4 quarter circus that no one has enough pride to fix, is what it is.

It doesn’t require fixing. It is an exhibition and is treated as such. Don’t watch

I think a lot of it comes from AAU. Before AAU got huge, a lot of these guys came into the league not knowing but having heard of the other guys. A lot of times there was a little animosity built up because of that.

Magic and Bird came into the league hating each other even though they'd never met. It was constantly reading how the other guy was better.

These days, these guys meet playing AAU ball and are already friends when they enter the league.

I saw as good of players treat the game with more respect. I’ll watch or not watch, and comment how I see fit.
