Nah, it’s probably to bring the price up on that #2 pick

I mean, yeah I understand that aspect of it, but why trade out of the opportunity to get the consensus best player in the draft, according to most people? But it is the Redskins so who knows. Plus I think Young grew up close to DC, so he has that prerequisite already covered. Lol.

They'd be silly not to at least consider it. A team should really only have a top 2 pick once a decade or so.

Yeah, I'd agree. I think both are better prospects than what Haskins was as well. Plus the coaching staff isn't tied to Haskins.

I dunno, perhaps. But some of the theories floated in that redskins board are insane.

I would add that with a new coaching staff they have no allegiance to any player on the roster at this time. There are a ton of rumors coming out that the coaching staff has been less than impressed with him so far in the little interactions they have had so it would not shock me one bit to see them go QB.

And not like it hasn't happened in the past of a top pick not being well thought of in the organization and them moving on pretty quickly. Arizona is the most recent example of that standard.

The stats show that beyond the top-3 picks of the draft the QB position turns into a complete crap shoot.
Qbs can also play until they're 40+. If you're going to pass on Tua and he clears his medicals, you might regret it for a decade or more.

This is why teams are willing to reach for a QB. They almost fear missing out on the next big prospect as actually believing they found the next big prospect. They know fans will turn on them in a hurry for passing on talents like Mahomes or Watson.

And honestly you cannot truly expect your team to compete until you get the QB position figured out. You could have an A graded roster everywhere else and still not compete for Super Bowls.

That pick should be worth a lot with the hype burrow, tua, and chase are getting, so anything is possible. I’ll trust this new F.O. and coaching staff with whatever the decision.

Perhaps yes. It's definitely valuable. You really can't go anywhere but up and your roster is not as bare as ppl think. There's a lot of hidden talent their imho. But f I don't care whose brought in , Snyder is there.

The more I look at this draft the more I think that the Redskins can't trade down. Chase Young is too much of a consensus top pick. The only way you pass on him is if you're trying to get a franchise QB.

So we have the top 2 QB's not drilling today, ( shocked there isn't more sitting out)

Lot of what "ifs"with this class of QB's :

Does Herbert leap frog Tua?
Is love really #3 or #4 in this class?
Where does Fromm and Eason stack up?

Cleveland fans started day drinking reading that comment!
lol remarkably, the steelers havent even been in the top 5, since 1970 when they took bradshaw #1.

they have had a 7,8,9,8.

Only have picked in the top ten 4 times since that 1970 pick.........

No herbert doesnt leap frog.

Love is gonna be 3-4 or drop big one or the other, someones gotta fall in love.

Eason, yikes he can spin, like boller and alot of other guys, but his head game.......could be a a first or a 3-4

fromm is steady eddy, think hes going mid rounds, his play dropped each year

anyeone know what time qb;s throw today?

Miami is the pressure point.

There are some other teams that may or may not draft a young QB but Miami really did go full-on tank mode. Miami can also wait out Tua's injury or Herbert's development. If Tua drops past Miami, though, then his stock is probably going to tank. Herbert might die behind that Miami oline so Tua seems like an obvious fit for the Dolphins and Tua's strengths match up with Herbert's strengths in terms of pocket accuracy.

I wouldn't rule out Eason being the #2 QB. A team like Miami has nothing but time to wait on a big arm QB. Even a Jameis Winston type would be an upgrade for them.

It sounds like they were on the Tua train but are freaked out by the medical issues. This leads me to believe we might see something silly like some team coming up to #32 because Tua drops all the way to the bottom of the round due to medical concerns. Or #2 QB. Not sure Tua has much of a middle ground.

if you were first, i quickly fell in line, ive been saying that since before the season was over.:suds:
as I think we've discussed, ESPN could get fans to believe whatever they wanted......if they wanted fans to hype, say, Jalen Hurts as a 1st rounder fans would buy in.

couple highlight videos and a Kiper mock would get it done.

Pretty simple to me....if you like a QB a lot better than the one you have you need to take him.

You trade out IF you like a QB a lot more than the one you have because even if he's JJ Watt you have a far better chance to win with a stud QB than DE.
