The idea that Haskins will be there at 6 defies recent trends. Teams trade up for QBs. If Murray doesn't go #1 then maybe Haskins drops a little bit but he should go top 4 imo.

There is a possibility that they stay put and take Lock at 6. Or that maybe Lock jumps Haskins which would surprise me but it wouldn't be the craziest thing ever.

I just see Denver, Washington, Miami and maybe Cinci all needing QBs. Rosen/Murray takes one of them off the board. Lock takes one of them off the board. That still leaves 1-2 teams other than the Giants.

If they actually like a QB then they should trade up. If they don't then....well...the GM is going to get fired if he doesn't make the playoffs next year.
I agree. If he's good enough to take at 6, a QB starved team will go get him sooner I'd think.

Trading Odell Beckham Jr only makes sense if the Giants rebuild. Imo. To me that means trading up for a QB or drafting two defensive players next year and doing a full-on tank in 2019.

Its easy to say that the second way is smarter but the second way gets everyone fired.

Maybe they draft your boy Lock later?

Maybe. But why trade away an elite deep threat if you're drafting the QB known for throwing deep?

Because that deep threat might eat a young QB alive?
All I know is that Gettleman was so duplicitous with his plans with OBJ that I dont really believe any rumors coming out regarding the Giants.

I mean taking a QB makes sense for the Giants especially in a rebuild but it's the Giants...they aren't making much sense right now. If they don't like Lock or Haskins maybe they do wait but it doesn't make much sense imo. But if they are going tank mode for a QB in 2019, getting two solid defensive players also makes sense too

It comes down to the QB evaluation, imo.

I'd imagine you wouldn't trade Baker Mayfield for Ed Oliver and Greedy Williams. Josh Rosen? Maybe..

Yep, Gettleman makes any projections for these picks difficult.

Well I guess in this particular draft it would be Josh Allen/Montez Sweat and a top CB but I think last year's QB class is hands down WAY better than this year so yeah it does come down to QB evaluation. I don't see anyone in this class being as good as a couple of those QB last year, especially so quick. Haskins, Lock even Murray could be projects. Still not sure what to think about Murray honestly.

Murray should have the same learning curve as Mayfield.

Lock and Haskins both probably have one 'dead' year in them like Rosen, Darnold, and Mahomes.

No guarantees, though.

I think Zona improved their OL a bit, not sure. If not, not sure anyone can succeed with that OL. I expect them to go OL in the draft too

Super athletic LB that ignores responsibilities to make a play, talks about himself in the 3rd person, talking about a 100 million dollar contract before playing an NFL down. This guy seems like a perfect fit for the Steelers.

I've held the same opinion about him for months. He's a phenomenal athlete with some of the worst LB instincts I've seen. He's going to get absolutely eaten alive at the NFL unless someone does a full overhaul of his game.

Maybe they do what the Browns did in 2017? Hold off on a stud QB but take a chance on one who falls (Kizer)? If he doesn't pan out get their guy in 2020.

Not sure I'd put darnold in that group as he played well for a rookie IMO.
