I wish someone would change this to 2020 so we Pats fans would have something to chat about.
Several recent mocks for the Pats 1st rounder (not all of these are with the latest draft order, but close enough):
CBS: Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame
SB Nation: KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State
Fansided: Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge, Penn State
Sporting News: Kenneth Murray, ILB, Oklahoma
Walter Football: Albert Okweugbunam, TE, Missouri
247 Sports: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
NBC Sports: Terrell Lewis, Edge, Alabama
I like the Kmet pick he is a pretty well rounded TE. Blocks well decent hands I like that pick
TEs rarely make an impact their first year, so would that be an indication that Brady is gone or back?
I think back, I suspect the Pats will sihn a vet FA or two at the WR spot. We suck at drafting WRs we need to just stick to inking vets for one or or three year deals.
Pats only have $42M to work with, and Brady's contract has to come out of that number (and McCourty, Van Noy, Slater, Collins, etc). I think Brady may price himself out of town.
I wasn’t looking for this post. Just looking over some of my old takes.Daniel Jones - QB, A grade: I LOVE THIS PICK. I think Daniel Jones is the best QB in this draft, he has some time to understudy, and the Giants have a young productive RB to help him out. I think this is a fantastic pick and can't grade this anything less than an A. Jones has a good arm, good tangibles, and I like the fact he can study a bit behind a stable (Eli - yes I get he's not exactly stable) QB.
In fairness, Shark may have drunk, high or both that day.I wasn’t looking for this post. Just looking over some of my old takes.
I hated Jones especially at this spot and most felt the same way but surprising you liked this kid, let alone LOVED him
He probably should not have reacted publicly like he did but guess Baker was right about him that day.I wasn’t looking for this post. Just looking over some of my old takes.

He sucks. Plain and simpleMmmmmz.... yah must've been a little too drunk that year. Although, I think the Giants ownership is worthy of pointing a finger at and contributed to his failure. He had like 4 different head coaches and coordinators in 5-6 seasons, Barkley couldn't stay healthy (which I mentioned in my grading), and he had an OL that was quite possibly worse than Seattle's over that period which is quite remarkable. Would've been interesting to see him on a different team with a little more stability.
If you look book, his first season was actually pretty good. 3K yards, 24 TDs (2:1 INT ratio) a basically bottom 10 defense. Not bad. Record was poor but the defense sucked and Barkley did OKAY but not amazing. His 2nd year he regressed but still had an 80+ rating. He ran for almost 500 yards and was the 2nd leading rusher on the team (only a couple hundred behind the leading rusher). Defense improved, but meh. Barkley was injured...
So yah... I still think Jones is one of those "What if he went to" cases. Like when Alex Smith went to the 9ers and bombed... and then went to Reid (an actual offensive mind) and thrived.
It is funny people thinking he would bust bc he was a dick, political views or injuries. Had one injury in college and the other stuff is meaningless.I'm glad this thread was bumped. It was an entertianing read as posters asked if Nick Bosa would bust. Always good to be reminded of just what an asshole Handicappers was.
