One man’s Opinion. I don’t give a damn about price I would’ve picked Trout first. That much better than everybody else

So you're saying the guy you picked is the best? Way to step out on a limb there and be unbiased.

I was wondering when he was going...still one other guy OTB surprised he hasn't gone yet

Totally would have picked him, if I had known who he was.

He still isn't near Trout or Yelich but the discount is nice and I trust him to do the same thing next year more than a Devers for example. Not that he was a bad pick!

Yeah he is the best easily overall but this isn't based on the players' career it is building for the future. He still goes #1 regardless but when guys are 4-5 years younger putting up almost the same numbers while $17M cheaper and still in pre-arb or arb it's definitely the way to go. I mean if the cap were at 110 or 120 I would have picked Trout without thinking twice.

That's like, 1/4 of the salary cap, which keeps going down. If it was back at 130, I may have thought about him.

It's not even 1/5 of the cap. It's Mike Trout, you can easily build around him without having to spend $28M on Pujols

I hope we aren't fighting about anything... I did put ADJ salary in the OP long before we started, sorry for any confusion. I don't believe there has been a bad pick yet but I would have taken Trout #1 as well...

I may be wrong but I don't think everyone realizes how easy this will be to stay under the $90M cap. Remember we are drafting 18 players not 25.

I don't think anyone said you couldn't build around him bc of course you can but if you want some high priced pitchers you won't be able to get much. I guess we will see, maybe $90M will be too much lol

It's easy for those in the know. For people like me, it's going to be damn near impossible. Investing that much this early at least for ME, would be really tough. I don't know enough to build around a guy.

You guys will probably have a much easier time with this stuff, but again that's why I said I wouldn't have taken Trout.
