Ok, I think players should be viewed as current. Not even the last 3 years, just presently, this year.

I'm going to sit this one out. I don't know/care enough about current baseball players and salaries to really get into this one.

Not including injuries?

Hmm was thinking about this and I think this depends. A good example is Corey Kluber. Pretty much one of the best SP's in baseball the last 5-6 years and this year he was never fully healthy even when he did pitch or pitched terrible.

This is up for debate bc I still think Kluber is one of the best pitchers in baseball but not this year obviously, by far.

You just said you think players should be viewed as they currently are well we can't just start making exceptions.

Aren't you running away with the current player rotisserie league?

Losing my grip. But that's different. You pick one player. Once we get past the first few rounds, I would be clueless.

Plus, full disclosure, I had never heard of quite a few of the guys that I have picked throughout the year in that exercise.

I just counted. I think I have heard of 26 of the 47 players that I have used before this season started.

That's better than half, I will wager $1,000 hoop cash you finish top 5

Yeah hard to say. So if injuries count Giancarlo Stanton would go undrafted? Haha

I'm asking, I agree there shouldn't be exceptions.

But for example: if a player has played for only 25 games this season (missed 80 games bc of injuries) and he is a top 15 player when healthy how do we view him? Kinda difficult, just trying to figure this out so we don't have a million questions before it's time to vote.

In that? I would hope so. We're almost at the end and I have a pretty good lead.

I change my vote to: the player should be viewed for their entire career. Injuries, one hit wonders, rookies, etc. are too difficult to judge based on only one year or really one-half of a season. Guys that are at the top this year, will still be valued high but most not valued too high.

Plus, old players that are possibly HOF bound or past their prime are most likely still getting the big bucks so it won't have too much of an effect on cap imo
