We just aren't going to win many against the Astros this year. We won't look so pathetic against lesser opponents. We are really overmatched against the top teams in the league.

Our framework is definitely not in place. Just don't see other than Mazara our OF of the future. This includes DDJ who I could see in LF. We are just a bad defensive team.

Gallo looks too good at 1B to move him even back to 3B. I know we have Guzman in the wings but I wonder who else on farm projects at 3B within 2 years. Just a lot of holes being exposed.

I was thinking about Calhoun last night but I am think the years of MLB service must be in play here.

When Beltre is no longer at 3B you may see that differently.

To answer your question, we don't really have a strong 3B option in the minors who is within 2 years of arriving. Profar could play there, but within a few weeks we may be desperate for Profar at 2B. At this point I think our infield for 2020 just might be Guzman, Profar, Gallo and Elvis.

Hopefully, Chris Seise makes his way here by 2021 or 2022.

I know the whole "manipulating service time" thing is a popular opinion, but Calhoun is not the Rangers version of Kris Bryant or Ronald Acuna. He needs more time at AAA, especially in the OF.

A better way to phrase it would be that Gabe Kapler is discovering new ways to screw up managing a bullpen.

With the way this season will probably turn out I can't think of a better time to put him out there. At least he might hit the stinking ball.

The guy who's on our 25 right now that I wonder the most about is Tocci. He's suppose to be terrific with the glove and pretty good arm. But I read a few days ago he's only had like 17 ABs above AA.

So apparently the Rangers see a lot in him, but I can't imagine him not being totally over matched at the plate.
