Workouts for players they are considering for the #2 pick start today with Emmanuel Mudiay. Among those they are expecting to see this next week are Jahlil Okafor, Karl Anthony Towns, D'Angelo Russell and Justise Winslow.

I don't know. Hadn't heard that. I just know that according to this mornings paper the Lakers are expected to bring them in this week. If they're not going to work out, maybe they'll just be interviewed?

Yeah, the article I read just said they were bringing them in, but didn't specify whether or not they were going to work out. I just assumed it would be to work out. Guess Towns will just interview. Seems kinda weird that he won't workout, especially since he was rumored to prefer going to the Lakers.

Maybe he thinks it'll lessen the chance that Minny takes him like your article suggests?

it ain't complicated imo fellas. stick with getting one of the 2 bigs and simply stay the course...

overthinking this can only lead to problems...

with any draft in any sport theres likely to be a few busts...so its not a simple process. go back to 2012 nba draft. anthony davis goes #1. and its kidd-gilchrist #2. damian lillard would be drafted 6th. i like anthony-towns. I'm not as sold on okafor.

Yeah, rumor is that Flip likes Okafor, but the FO/GM wants Towns. Do they go with the FO's desires or the guy who has to coach whoever they pick?

Perhaps luckily for us, Flip is the front office. He was hired as the president of basketball operations and then decided to hire himself as head coach. Its basically people trying to convince him to take Towns over Okafor. He's the guy in charge of it all so its his decision unless the owner overrules him but that owner has been fairly hands off in the past. So I'm hoping Flip sticks to his guns and takes Okafor.

Don't you all think Towns would be the best get for LA? His potential seems to be much higher than Okafors.

Yes, this scenario would be great if we could land a big via free agency. I've wanted DeAngelo Russell for a long time, but not sure you can pass on a guy like Towns.

It made me want to get some. I wasn't in awe (coming in to the training facility) because it is a great franchise. I would love to be a part of something like this. I just want to win and get as many championships as I can.

Towns held a workout in LA that teams could attend. Sounds like he doesn't plan to do any individual workouts.

I'm almost to the point where I don't care who the Lakers get at #2 as long as it's Towns, Okafor, Russell or Mudiay.

All of them seem to have a great deal of upside. This maybe a difference of how the Lakers want to re-build. I think/hope that they will strongly consider what FA's they feel like they have the best shot at.

i.e. if they think they have a strong shot at one of the bigs, they take on of the guards with the #2. If they think they have a better shot at an FA guard or SF, then they take one of the bigs.

If they aren't sure re: FA, then they should draft Towns/Okafor and chase a guard or SF in FA.
