End of the day though, like I think all of us suspect, they will keep the #2 and go with Towns/Okafor.
Mudiay had a private workout today. Okafor and Russell will also have another workout in El Segundo. KAT must be pretty confident that Minnesota will draft him unless a last minute workout is scheduled.
Whomever they pick, I feel confident that they will have made the right decision. They are certainly doing their due diligence.
I didn't think he was doing any team workouts. Did he change his mind? Only thing I saw was he did a private workout in LA where I think teams were invited but he skipped all traditional team invitation workouts.
There are articles indicating that the Lakers and Celtics (not with each other) are trying to trade out of the LATE first round. That 27th pick is being offered meaning the Lakers are going to most likely keep the #2 and load up on the second round for cap purposes and then go after one of the MANY FAs rumored to be on their way to the Lakers.
Report: Lakers, Celtics looking to trade out of late first round picks in NBA Draft | ProBasketballTalk
Predictable. Saw this coming a month or so ago. They'll either package the later picks to move up to grab a player or get rid of #27. If they can't find a suitor, they'll draft a Euro to keep overseas for a few years so he won't count against the cap.
The latest mock draft I saw this morning has Justin Anderson available at #27. I really like this guy and would be stoked if the Lakers draft him. I think he'll be a strong wing defender in the NBA. He's strong and athletic with great length. He improved his 3-point shooting significantly during his college career.
So many variables involved in those middle of the draft picks. Thursday can't come soon enough!
To the Kings for Cousins!!!
NOOOOOOOOO...!!!
Just the #2 pick and we get Cousins and the #6 pick?
Hellllllllllllll yes.
