Game Thread: Thanksgiving nite vs the Packers

No, dude, I am not saying that. What is your problem? I complimen the heck out of the secondary, as far as I am concerned they basically won the game, along with possibly the toughest, grittiest game yet played by Alshon. But you are on drugs if you think the pass rush was good, Rodgers was probably back there an average of seven seconds a pass - and that was wih blitz support. His problem was that his receivers were blanketed.

It was an awesome game, no joke. But it's not like the bears played perfectly either. And it's not like the packers didn't do some weird shit. Why is it that anything less than full throated bears cocksucking after a win is called "weird."

Fuck this forum. You guys are a bunch of ass kissing douchebags.

Obviously, the secondary earns a huge gold star for this one. They managed to overcome a mostly feeble pass rush (even though we blitzed a lot), and stayed on their guys like glue. Very, very impressive. Why the packers abandoned the run (which they were killing us with) as much as they did was a total mystery to me. My packer buddies were going completely apeshit over the Packer playcalls. And how they managed to not recognize the blatantly obvious Jeffrey screens - all of which were quite interceptable if they had simply recognized the plays - was nothing short of incredible. Pretty awesome stuff.

I dont know if anyone will watch that all 22 stuff, but it sure looked to me that there was more man to man coverage with the bears secondary, if not mostly man to man, so there were no misses when a player was passed off to a safety, well, other than Shea maybe playing zone when Lacey got that touchdown. Maybe they changed to man after that, because it sure seemed like corners stayed with the receivers alot more than usual.

Stoked for the win that is for sure. I still think the offense is far from hitting on all 8 cylinders. We should be putting up 28+. The pass def is better then I expected. Our return guy is awful. 4 weeks ago I had GB in the SB. AR looks human this year. If GB would stick to running the ball, that team would be back to SB dreams.

Which is why you are needed. You don't look at things like a homer. Your points were dead on and correct. But you could give us a full 24 hrs of bliss before you point out the flaws. We beat fking GB in GB. I just want good news this morning.

Alright, I apologize. I just think it would be nice to enjoy the win, for I don't know, a couple hours? Before I go into how shitty we did in any given area. It's been almost a decade of futility against our arch rival...to be quite honest, I don't care if an act of God got them the win. Don't care. Just happy to have won.

THIS^^^

I realize you are an analytical fellow cubz, but man....I am still geeked up over FINALLY beating our nemesis....a game that we won, fair and square...if anything we had to play against the refs too...

I am not on the team or a coach...I don't need to dissect every facet of every fucking game. Sometimes it's just nice to enjoy the win.

My sincerest apologies for coming off as rude.

Not to beat a dead horse, but just marginalizing it to "a win" is weird IMO. This was a not just "a win". Not for the fans at least.

And the ass-kissing comment is out of context as well. Had the Bears lost and sucked up the joint, or had this been "just another win", maybe that shit would make sense, but this was against a team who has fucking owned us for the better part of a decade. A team that dropped 42 on us in one half just last year.

Fans being elated by that and wanting to revel in it for a few hours is not fucking ass-kissing or douchbaggery.

So basically, your post-game comment, is that the Packers gave this one away and the Bears should not have won.

Once out of like the last 12 fucking games we've lost against them...we finally win one and that's what you have to say?

You are the weirdest "fan" ever.

I think the Bears DESERVED this win. I think they somewhat dominated a heavily-favored Packers team, and they did that with some shitty officiating as well. That negated INT was utter bullshit and there were about 3 others where even dumb Collinsworth couldn't ignore em'.

And FWIW, the Bears may be the best WR screen team in the NFL right now.

I'm not if Cali was insinuating that GB gave the game, but I believe Jay actually did throw a cople of passes where they should've been picked. and one would have been a pick six.
But that's the would of/could of game.....

My hats off to the defense for the game ending stance..... Man that was exciting.:yo:

I'm certain there are plenty of instances where they weren't perfect. You can always find things to improve on. No team will be ever perfect.

All I can say, is I'm glad they won. I prefer a good old-fashioned victory that was earned. But if you had asked me last nite with 2 minutes to play, I would've told ya I'd take a win by lightning strike, or team AIDS, or a sinkhole opening up in the center of Lambeau and swallowing the Packers entire team and staff....

Thanksgiving night, in Lambeau, on Brett freaking Favre nite, with Bart effing Starr in attendance.....after a decade of being Green Bay's personal fluffer??...I can't find a negative thing in my heart to say?? I'm sure there is plenty, but ima soak in this for a bit.

Now that was uncalled for.....I am one of those guys that could give shit about what anyone writes, and I really could careless about the bolded, but damn that was uncalled for.
I look forward to what you guys have to say..... All of yeah.

Absolutely horrible.

And actually Carolina seems to be the team in the NFC. I thought this before GB was an average looking team.

Mariani even muffed a kickoff he should have left Thompson handle. Smart play to take a knee.

They broke a lambau curse and there are no way the fudge can say the bears had to play a perfect game to beat them. That was a bonus. Thats the highlight. No key play, awesome throw, incredible catches, just an entire team with a lot of backups wanting the game more.

I see this team turning corners, and they are getting better and better every week. I think play-calling has led to losses, particularly in the Viking, Lions, and Denver games. But overall, the Bears are clearly getting better.

It feels so nice to say that.

(24 hr notice given) The def is getting better, the STs is getting hidden better. The O sucks outside of QB. We can't stop the run and the pass rush is spotty at best. AJ played hurt. Bennett broke a nail and missed ( softest player ever at the TE position). McPhee still not 100%. I don't think we played very good against GB, I think GB sucks for whatever reason. I don't think Langford is starting material and Forte will be gone soon.

Cmon Joe,I think whenn AJ is healthy, he's a hellva wr.....And we wont know what we have in White till next season. The o-linee has been doing ok.I thought it was nice to see JL come in and play.It was not his best game, but I like his play.He deserves a chance to start.Forte is just a dominoes waiting to fall.
And vent tho Martellus has been hurt, Miller has done a great job filling in..... He's been on fire since MB has been down.
Defense did helluva job too stopping AR at the end of the game.First and goal from inside the 5 and we hold them on 4downs? What's not to like?

Just get thru this season and lets hope we get a pass rushing specialist/run stopper to helpp our defensive line.....
We may have decent team next year.:hope:

OK, look. I'm sorry I called you all douchebags...that was overreahing and insensitive and...

no fuck it you are all douchebags!

Ok I am sort of half kidding. But seriously I can't believe it sometimes...you just want to talk about the game like a football guy and I get skewered for doing so. So I do apologize if I overreacted. Noon's comment brought me back.

So, OK, in the future....I promise to waitat least 24 hours before posting anything less than the SUPREMELY AWESOME ASS KICKING WE GAVE THOSE BASTARDS.

That is all.

If that ball ended up being a pick 6, it would have been the receiver's fault. He was supposed to make that move to catch the screen pass, and thankfully he did it.

The OL has been ok, but Cutler has been doing a TREMENDOUS job avoiding sacks with the way he shifts around in the pocket. A lot of QBs would be sacked a lot behind this OL, but Cutler makes the OL look better than it is with his mobility. You can't say enough about how well Cutler is playing this year.
