I bet that'll just kill you if that happens to UT, too.

I'd never recover

I've never dealt with high pressure "take it now or lose it" types. The only people that do that are the ones that know the other guys have more to offer. If you really are the best, then you will get my business. If not, then you won't. Give me an ultimatum, you REALLY won't.

I think its smart. I don't want a player to commit unless he is committed...It hurts recruiting when they leave on signing day. It could cause them to lose recruits, but i doubt it affects things very much. Players will just wait and make their visits before committing to Texas.

The fact is, Texas is ALWAYS going to get top caliber recruits. They might not get every player they target, but the state is too big for them not too pick up sufficient talent. Anyone dumb enough to think they don't have anything to offer is really just hating.

I don't personally like the policy, but they've unofficially been doing that for YEARS now anyway.

it doesnt matter that we lost a recruit.......it is the fact that the kids will commit and say they are still committed right up until a week before signing

i think most schools should do this or change it so the kids cant commit a year in advance

ps..... read up on the curse(curse doesnt count for low level prospects so dont bring that stupid rg3/manziel talk):: for the ones that dont know manziel was a 3 star recruit 20th qb or so and rg3 wasnt offered anywhere to be a qb besides houston/then went to baylor with houston coach

Just not top caliber coaching, apparently.

If I were a recruit, I would commit to Texas, then visit Alabama, and be like "what you gone do bitch?"...take away my offer so I can't go there and underachieve?

Agreed, unfortunately. I've watched many a game, and tried to figure out just exactly WHAT the strategy was......because often times, even when they're winning, nothing they do makes any sense. Like Diaz's "no gap integrity" defense......

I don't get it. Are you also saying the last sentence to UT? or do you just not know how to use quotation marks?

I hate it when we lose good prospects at the last minute like we did this year to aTm. However, I hope OU is smart enough not to go this route. This is like telling a girl that if you're going steady with her she can't dance with anyone else at the prom. Kinda insecure in my opinion. Besides, why be a hypocrite? OU for damn sure will be trying to steal someone up until the last minute so why cop a prima donna attitude that your own school is too weak to handle the same competition? I like Mack but he's pressing now.
