All Frieri had to do was get one out, instead he gives up 3 runs.
It's funny how badly we torch him.

Murphy: Just what Frieri needs to get out of the inning.

Do we give Wash credit for PH gentry in a one run game in the top of the 9th?

Hell why not...Good call skip.

JT you made the point earlier today about not relying on HRs to score. Been thinking about what happens different and I think what happens when you depend on the long ball it is a passive approach. The team cycles through the ABs and everyone takes a one at a time approach to win it on one swing. When you have to score runs as TEX did just there ... it is an active aggressive approach involving multiple players making simultaneous moves like a chess board.

Play like this is more sustainable as it doesn't depend on long ball timing by one or two batters. We may be seeing a lot of play like this the rest of the way. The thing is ... if you are stressing the opposition to respond pitchers rush and leave the ball up and creates the greater potential for a mistake pitch ... and a long ball result.

All this started with Gentry's walk.

Glad you figured out what I meant by that, that's the type of exciting ball that I used to love us playing a couple years ago

Everytime Gentry was in the game, i just new something awesome was going to happen, still do actually
