Ok, I knew I would be pissed when I saw the lineup today because Houston is throwing a lefty. Hey Wash, Soto is one of your hottest hitters over the last four or five weeks.....Find a way for him to be in the lineup tonight you freaking IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah what is he doing?????

Soto is hitting nearly .400, in limited appearances, since mid August. I'm more curious about Baker as DH than AJP since AJP has been hitting better against lefties than righties lately.

Thanks. I'm a Soto fan. Love him as the backup, and hope we sign him to do same for next season (perhaps beyond).

Again, maybe AJP is catching due to a Perez preference.

Now that's "really" bad!

Ya know, we never got this guy for his bat. He was/is designed to be a pretty good backup catcher. Anything we get from his bat is a bonus. And he does seem to have some big game step-up in him, along with a a little pop.

COM'ON RANGERS.....take care of business.

First, whatever we do at catcher in the future may be tied to what happens between now and then end of this one. Second, Soto is a backup, regardless of who the #1 catcher is. But he's a damn good #2 IMO.

Wonder if the Rangers are really going after McCann.

problem is that:

Rangers outfielder/first baseman Jeff Baker will be limited to DH and pinch-hitting duties against lefties for the rest of the season as he deals with a sports hernia, the Dallas Morning News reports. Baker is not sure whether he will need surgery to correct the injury after the season.

wheres washs boy profar an murph:lol:

on the bench thankfully, and Profar in all fairness... is JD's baby

I've said multiple times, I'll never understand what JD was doing with Profar this year.
But, it's certainly not Profar's fault.

My fear is next year Profar will be a stunning defensive 2nd baseman, and hit .250
likely an unfounded fear, I hope anyway

Hamilton struggled to hit with a sports hernia, granted his was pretty serious/extensive. (2011)

Is Baker the only option?....I didn't know about the injury.
this DH thing has killed us...imo

profar should have went down when ian came back.him being forced into a lineup that didnt need him knocked off the chemistry of the team

yep, let him rake and develop in AAA, it's like there was this inexplicable rush to get a 20 y/o in the line-up...sure, if someone is hurt, bring him up.
he was never going to be a Trout, the hype was unfair to the PROSPECT Profar....I think some expected a Trout like player

I'll never understand it.

Other than corner outfielders, the DH has got be priority this offseason, especially if we keep Moreland at 1st.
