I saw where Evan Grant has Garabito and Latz making the roster in the BP and Leiter and Rocker as starters. Dunning would start the year in the minors. I wouldn't mind Church replacing Garabito even though he's young because he has pitched well and Dunning replacing Rocker because while neither has been great Dunning has been there before. Not sure what is going on with Rocker but very surprised at how bad he has been this spring.

To me Houser makes the squad with Leiter as a SP. They add Murphy too as the long man money permitting and then Dane starts in AAA
Rocker in AAA

I don't think they would view Church and Garabito as being interchangeable, to begin the season. They probably want two longmen and are probably considering Garabito as one of them. Churxh is most likely considered for one of the 6 short guy spots.

From Jeff Wilson:

Right-hander Jack Leiter was OK on Sunday, better than he was his previous outing but not as sharp as the time before that. He allowed two runs in four innings but needed 79 pitches to record 12 outs.

The best news is that he quickly adjusted an aggressive White Sox approach and didn’t seem flustered by the need to do so. Barring something unforeseen, Leiter will be in the rotation to start the season and could pitch as early as the second game.

The Rangers will need one more starter to emerge from a list of four internal candidates, all right-handers — Kumar Rocker, Dane Dunning, Adrian Houser and Patrick Murphy. The Rangers would love for it to be Rocker, but he didn’t show much improvement Friday night over 2 1/3 innings.

Dunning would be the easy choice, at least in terms of managing the 40-man roster. Houser has the most experience and is motivated to pitch for the team he grew up watching in Oklahoma. Murphy has been a nice story this spring, opening eyes and putting himself in position to pitch in the majors this season.

Houser and Murphy are in camp on minor-league deals.
If the Rangers stay in-house, their rotation solution will also affect the bullpen.

From Jeff Wilson:

External options?

As the Rangers themselves have experienced the past few springs, free agency doesn’t end with the start of camp. There are veteran rotation options still lingering on the market, and a few who are very familiar to the club.

Right-handers Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson can both log ample innings. Each enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career while with the Rangers, and they likely are stretched out and could be ready relatively quickly.

The Rangers signed Michael Lorenzen last year on the final day of spring training, but he was dispatched to Triple A Round Rock for three starts before making his debut April 15. A similar ramp-up would likely be used for a late-camp signing.

A few more external opportunities exist: a trade or signing a player in another camp on a minor-league deal. The Padres have been getting ample interest in right-hander Dylan Cease, who is a free agent after the season, and left-hander Jordan Montgomery could likely still be had on the cheap from the Diamondbacks.

He's only pitched 1/3rd of an inning this Spring and is listed as a reliever...

Yeah they don't need him in the rotation.

That's one hell of an expensive reliever they would like to get rid of, and by not letting him pitch that isn't going to raise his value either... :tsk:

Corbin hasn't been any good in a few years. I would rather Rocker and Leiter get experience and put up a 5 or 6 ERA than a veteran put up one that bad.

I am ok with Leiter but Rocket has an innings limit and I do not want to damage.
I thought Howswr and maybe Murphy were roster options

Based on his last 4 years that is an idiotic signing for a team that has great expectations.
