I wondered late last year if something happened to Rosario.

With Eovaldi here for 3 more seasons and deGrom for 3 or 4 more seasons, there is no place for Rosario in the near future anyway. Rosario's next full season will be 2927. He will have time to prove if he is a capable replacement for Eovaldi by then.

It does seem that Rosario could have had this surgery 4 months ago.

Does anyone remember me mentioning that the Rangers may sign Kevin Pillar a couple of months ago? I said I would tell you why later. Well, now is later. David Murphy comes into our place about every 6 weeks. But then one day I see on the computer the name Kevin Pillar. Then this guy walks in who looks like Kevin Pillar and I said, "Are you Kevin Pillar the baseball player?" Kevin said, "I am." then I said to him that I didn't know you lived in this are (I will just say Denton County) and he said we just moved here. He told me he was going to retire but was thinking now of being a free agent. I said that maybe the Rangers will sign you and he said that would be a dream come true. I told him I will get with CY then. LOL! When he left I thought why would he move here just out of the blue and my only thought was that he would be picked up by the Rangers.

2927. Hope it doesn’t take that long.

That's great that you got to meet him.

Bradford, Houser, Pennington and Curvelo are pitching today. Looking forward to seeing how Curvelo does this spring.

From Shawn McFarland:

Alejandro Osuna has been the Most Fun Position Player early. Made a long sliding catch in game one and also ran into an out. Just stole second against the Cubs after a walk.

To add to this: He just hit a rocket into left field (but Ian Happ laid out to rob him, nice grab).

From Jamey Newberg:

Really nice work out of Cody Bradford, who I’m a very big believer in. Much is made of the potential impact of getting full years out of Jacob deGrom and Kumar Rocker and Josh Jung, and properly so, but I don’t think we talk enough about what it meant to be without Bradford’s steady six innings per for more than half the season in 2024.

Today: 18 strikes in 24 pitches over two clean innings, one hit allowed, two strikeouts (one swinging and another looking), zero walks.

Same refrain: these results don’t matter. They’re just a reminder for me, today, of how valuable Cody Bradford can be to a team that expects to win.
