Ibanez comes through.

In the 8th he hits a bases-loaded, bases-clearing double. Tigers up 5-2. And, it was against Hader.

Now that's the kind of PH I would like to see for the Rangers. Lol

From Michael Bier:

“We need Adolis [García] to bounce back, we need Jonah Heim to bounce back, we need Leody Taveras to take the next step in his development. We need a healthy Josh Jung and Evan Carter.”

Chris Young said internal upgrades are more significant than they can get anywhere else.
Heim has had one good year at the plate. He had a career year last season. I wouldn’t put much trust in him.

Texas needs to either roll with a rotation next year of:
deGrom-Rocker-Bradford-Mahle-Leiter, with Dunning and Gray as depth,
or if they want to bring back Eovaldi, they should in turn trade Gray to free up some money.
I'd make a serious push to re-sign Yates given how stellar he was this year, and I would even be cool to bring back Robertson at the right price.
BUT also would sign and(or) trade for 2 more relievers that are capable of pitching in the 8th or 9th innings, as well. Let's build a loaded bullpen.
I still believe in Sborz, and Pennington looks to be a player, as well. Mark Church is another cat already on the team who could really help the pen.
Other than that, either go get one high-quality everyday hitter or sign a couple of reliable depth bats in case the big name hitters on the team don't improve next year. Also give guys like Crim, Foscue and Harris legitimate opportunities in Spring Training to compete for roster spots.
Also, either finally give Huff a shot at catcher or trade for a starting-caliber catcher to compete with Heim.
i like but according to the article CY thinks we should make every effort to re-sign Eovaldi and Heaney which i don't like.

maybe something in the middle like deGrom, Mahle, Bradford, Rocker and sign someone like Turnbull to start the season. lineup Leiter, Garcia, Teodo, Drake and Santos at AAA to bring up if needed.

instead i would concentrate on the bullpen. first getting Robertson to hang one more year on the mutual option and re-sign Yates. then i would spend bucks on a couple of late inning relievers like Scott and Estevez and lefty long reliever like Ryan Yarbrough. that makes a bullpen of Yarbrough. Gray, Sborz, Pennington, Robertson, Yates, Scott and Estevez

haven't completely read the article and it's very early but CY seems to be saying that he doesn't see the Rangers making any moves on the offensive side of the team unless it's for someone the Rangers really want. so right not looks like we stay with pretty much the same batting order of Semien, Seager, Smith, Langford, Garcia, Lowe, Jung, Heim and Carter with the bench having to be filled internally. i guess Crim, Duran, Huff and Osuna makes sense to me

Don't be surprised to see Jankowski back and maybe even Grossman.

I don't think Bochy will be on board with Huff being the only backup.

I think Crim will be gone after the Rule 5 draft.

I was thinking the same thing. Crim may not get picked up though.

I always make time to come back and read this message board. I’m a pretty busy guy in my 30’s now, but as always I wish everyone posting here nothing but the best. I hope we all have a spectacular and memorable holiday season.

I’ll hope for good health and good company for everyone here while the rangers make some decent to good moves this offseason.

i like Jankowski but it's time to move on and i even like Grossman but a flat no. and having 2 extra catchers on the bench makes no sense.

but like you said Bochy is Bochy.

I think CY may have something to say about that

I think Carter in good health may cut Jank out

I think CY had a lot to say about Grossman and Jankowski being here this year. Maybe 2025 will be different. I am just saying I wouldn't be surprised. I am not really predicting that will happen, though.

I am predicting Huff will be traded and Crim will be taken in Rule 5.

if he is then the starting outfield would be Langford, Carter and Garcia and we would still need a 4th outfielder that can be shuffled into one of the 3 outfield positions if needed. unfortunately, that would be Jank in Bochy's book while i think Alejandro Osuna would be the better choice. (and i like Jank but time to move forward with our prospects)

I think Leody will be back and if Carter is healthy and looking well in camp rhe Leody will be platooned. Need a good year of health with Evan before we cut bait on Leody

What about Harris as a 4th OF?
