No More "Bullpen Failure"
Either that, or what they use to predict how someone should hit is flawed to a certain extent.
Seager appears to have had some bad luck last year

They like Carter and Acuna a little bit more than I do. Or maybe they like a few others a little less than I do.
Do you think it lacks credibility?Either that, or what they use to predict how someone should hit is flawed to a certain extent.
I think a lot of the ways they use data can be suspect. The data is fine, but the use of it is based on theories and sometimes those theories can be flawed. I think a lot of folks see that complicated math was used and become enamored with that and think the theories are just as solid as the math.Do you think it lacks credibility?
I would have no issue if it went Jung White Carter then Leiter and Acuna further downThey like Carter and Acuna a little bit more than I do. Or maybe they like a few others a little less than I do.
I am not as familiar with Baseball America's ratings over the years, but I know MLB, and a few others tend to see CF and SS as a little more valuable than others.I would have no issue if it went Jung White Carter then Leiter and Acuna further down
Talking about this one specifically.I think a lot of the ways they use data can be suspect. The data is fine, but the use of it is based on theories and sometimes those theories can be flawed. Well maybe so but would hope that is more the case draft wise vs prospects turning into MLB players.I am not as familiar with Baseball America's ratings over the years, but I know MLB, and a few others tend to see CF and SS as a little more valuable than others.
I think the falloff in Seager's numbers from 2021 to 2022 is too much just to be bad luck. He may be just fine in 2023.Talking about this one specifically.
They think his exit velocity with launch angle factoring in strikeouts would get him a better slugging % an bating average. I am sure the shift factors in as well as some randomness made Seager lower than expected
Not sure what you consider in this one specifically as suspect unless you just generally don’t buy into Seager. Am I off base?
Everyone has soured on Leiter. Expect a big comebackCarter, Jung and White are the only Rangers in the Baseball America Top 100 Prospects list.
He just might hit more home runs. Maybe not 40 but I bet more than 30. More gaps mean more doubles though.I think he will hit .280/.350/.465 .810 OPS
With 30 HRs and 30 doubles
So you don't think he will get close to what he was the last couple of years before we signed him(and that is with the shift)? Wouldn't that be a disappointment given what we paid him?I think he will hit .280/.350/.465 .810 OPS
With 30 HRs and 30 doubles
Willie was the one who went to dinner with Semien just prior to him signing here. I guess they are pretty close.Rangers host Players Alliance event on MLK Day
Couple things here:
Semien has been very active in the community since his arrival here, and I like seeing that. Also, I guess there isn't bad blood between Willie Calhoun and the Rangers, as he participated in a community event with the Rangers this week.
