Good. Then we can wait to see how he pitches and to see how our pitchers progress before trying to sign him a year from now.Syndergaard-accepts QO
My cable contract has ended and I am in the market. MLB app maybe the best bet if it changes for me to get home games
I like this for our guys. I know Crawler was hurt by it and would like him back on the board and all who have been effected.
His numbers as an AL pitcher are not that great. I would rather trust one of our own prospects to do as well as he has done in the AL.Gausman-Rangers-5/$115

Unfortunately, JD has been enamored with NL pitchers in the past.
I am not going to trust a pitcher with a bad record in the AL, and for those who have never pitched in the AL, I am going to consider their ERA will be worse between .5 and .75 runs in the AL.I get that.
I think Gausman has done a lot better due to throwing his splitter more so than his move to the NL.
He fared well against some pretty nice lineups in the NL.
Cole Hamels went 7-1 and then 15-5 his first year and half with a 3.30-3.60 ERA.I am not going to trust a pitcher with a bad record in the AL, and for those who have never pitched in the AL, I am going to consider their ERA will be worse between .5 and .75 runs in the AL.
I warned against that when we acquired Hamels.
Yes, there are some exceptions, but there are enough pitchers available that we can be more selective than having to take a chance on landing one of those exceptions. We still most likely have a total of 3 offseasons to make acquisitions so we really don't have to settle.Cole Hamels went 7-1 and then 15-5 his first year and half with a 3.30-3.60 ERA.
If Gausman goes from 2.88 to 3.50-3.65 I’ll take it.
Gerrit Coles ERA went down switching to the AL by changing over to the 4sm instead of 2 sm and throwing higher in the K zone.
Gausman has gotten better by using his splitter more, same reason his K/9 has gone way up!
I do agree there is a .3-.6 difference in ERA from the NL to the AL but also look at the individual a little closer.
Same with Lance Lynn. He got better in the AL vs the NL by increasing his velocity and using his 4 seamer up in the zone and increasing strike outs.
A lot of pitchers made changes over the last few years to get better. I believe Gausman is one of those.
So Braves win again on a walk off and Wash is the media darling
I am hoping Braves win it all.Really hoping for a Braves/Sox series.
