Under this hypothetical scenario - where the Rangers sign Correa and Syndegaard and trade for Gray - do you consider that to be a successful offseason by the front office? or would there need to be additional moves made to call it that?
I would consider it successful if they only signed Correa.

I wouldn't mind Syndergard if they do their due diligence, but he isn't necessary to me. I would rather not trade for Gray.

I am very intrigued by Seiya Suzuki.

To me if we can fill out SS and somehow a starting catcher and add a pitcher who is a vet and who eats inning. Yes the Suzuki guy is intriguing. That makes for a good offseason
I would wait a year on an Ace

hy the love affair with Correa? i'd take any of the other SS before Correa his recent comments make him sound like a cancer for any team who signs him

he's the youngest FA SS, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't care much for his attitude either, but if you're going to give someone a 8/9/10 year contract, age is a huge factor.

If your scenario had had Story in place of Correa, my answer would have been the same.

EDIT: that question is for anyone who'd like to answer
Not a big fan of Gray. I would like to see them get Story or Seager, Stroman and Bryant. I think that Corea and his agent are going to ask for to much money.

Wouldn't mind Bryant, but I would be shocked if SF lets him get away.

I would be ok with it.
Sonny Gray will be a FA after 2022 so I wouldn’t want to give up a ton for him. But he would be a nice bridge to bring along the youngsters.
I like Gray if he’s relatively cheap. 3/$36 if he cost more than that I would rather just go after Stroman or the likes.

I also, IMO, would like to trade for one of the many blocked catchers around the league.
I would hang onto Heim then promote Huff as the DH back up C If and when he’s hitting well at AA/AAA.

how many years would give him? and then what do you do with Huff?

Personally for at least 2022 t would rather see Huff and Heim

Seiya Suzuki had an OPS of 1.072 this year. He previously played 3B and SS, but has mainly played the OF since 2014. He recently turned 27 years old.

For comparison purposes, Ohtani never had an OPS over 1.004 in Japan.

looking at Suzuki's physical size i'm concerned about him/ 5'-11", 182 lbs plus Ohtani is the oddball as far as bringing his hitting to the MLB. most position players coming from the NPB just don't cut it here
