oh well they can't have it both ways. unless they move the entire season deeper into October and November there's no way to have a 162-game and conduct the rest of the off-season stuff and a ST. moving ST to March 5th has to automatically impact the start of the regular season and thus move the end of the season further into October. with the way the climate is changing some teams could be playing their end of the season and any playoff games in winter weather type conditions. what do they do move the playoff games to domed stadiums or the fair-weather states?

my post earlier mentioned that ST can start on March 5 and there would be no delay to the Regular season. Which is the goal, I assume.

that would give them 2 weeks to resolve a lot of issues like FA signings, finding enough arbitrators to handle all the arbitration cases, rule 5, move equipment and staff to ST sites etc

Yes, that is correct. And that is entirely feasible.

you have a hellava lot more faith than i do. you and i are talking about the same MLB and players?

I'm sure there's quite a bit that's been prepared during the lockout. Everything can be instantly transmitted once pen is put to paper. The only reason it usually takes as long as it does is because it's a long offseason so no one is in a rush. Condense it down to how much time everything actually takes, and you've got about 10 days worth of activity.

It'll be chaotic, no doubt. But time will absolutely not be a factor.

suppose the Rangers are seriously going to pursue Seiya Suzuki and 2 or 3 or 4 FA's, that GM stuff what priority do they place on each? suppose they also planned on hard chasing Kershaw, Jansen and maybe one other FA starter. that would require a lot of juggling i want Chris involved in all because i have more faith in him getting it done and something is going to suffer if he is not concentrating on each

My assumption is that the Rangers have already offered deals to any remaining targets - remember, we had a free agency season before the lockout. Now comes the follow up.

i assume that too but i also assume that there are multiple teams that made similar offers to the same players and i also assume that the players will expecting counter offers and counter-counter offers plus we should also expect some trading to go down.
