Ah, the MLBPA was the one making the proposal today. MLB only had to receive it and go back and read over it. I guess they could have said, "Okay, we trust you guys and we will sign it right now."another day of MLBPA making an effort, and MLB not.
Yep, it looks like it is going to be awhile before the season starts.the fact that they aren't meeting every day (or at least 2-3 times a week) demonstrates how dug in both sides are to their respective positions.
I posted this back right after the end of the season. This is what I thought our young pitchers could do, inningswise, in 2022.This is what I think can be reasonably expected from our young atarting pitchers, as far as number of innings in 2022.
Dunning 145
Allard 140
Hearn 125
Otto 140
Alexy 115
Latz 120
Burke 110
Winn 110
Henriquez 120
Rodriguez 105
is that all you want? you don't seem interested in if they can deal with MLB hitting but only in can they throw innings. even when you talk about FA starters all you seem interested in is how many innings can they throw, and you seem totally disinterested in their final production or the final production of the team.I have asked this a few times to some media members, but never received a reply. How many games of the season have to be canceled before the Rangers need for innings eaters in the rotation is negated?
Every one in our local media has said since the offseason began that the Rangers had to go after 2 or even 3 pitchers because our younger pitchers couldn't throw enough innings to get through the entire season. If the season is only 120 to 130 games would that still be the case?
Would Alexy, Otto, Dunning, and Hearn all be able to pitch through a 125 game season? That probably gives everyone about 23 to 25 starts per game depending on health. 25 starts would require them to throw about 140 innings if they averaged 5.2 innings per start. If they started 23 games it would mean about 130 innings.
