The Baseball Prospect Journal has their latest mock draft out. It is quite different than some others. It is more in line with what folks were saying a few months ago.

6. Miami Marlins: Jace Jung, 2B/3B, Texas Tech

8. Minnesota Twins: Jacob Berry, 3B, LSU

To me, the revelations in the Skaggs trial makes all of the MLB look much worse than this labor dispute.

"The Skaggs trial has revealed drug use by six MLB players (including Skaggs). MLB has denied that it has a problem with recreational drug use based on testing records."

"MLB might want to recheck those numbers or come up with a new testing method."

"This trial is another black eye."

"It has become hard to believe that the Angels were the only team with a problem, especially since one of the players, right-hander Matt Harvey, admitted that he used cocaine before joining the Angels."

"Did the other players stop after they moved to other teams? Did they have a new teammate who knew a guy like Kay?" - Jeff Wilson

Yes the whole thing is sad for the family and the league is consumed about HOF criteria and who is character worthy.
Opiod addiction is real but I am sure there are people who want help or want to help others but it has to keep on the hush due to the stigma

I know I am on my soapbox lately but there seems to be more ire from media than compassion. Maybe I am seeing the wrong news or missing the message.

So tragic We want the game to be crystal clean but it is played by imperfect young men trying to find their way.
I am rooting for a guy like Matt Bush to make a comeback. Would hope all would feel for all of our deficiencies

Lastbyear's offseason thread ended on 2-16-2021. It has 1770 posts on 89 pages. At the end of 2-16-2022 this year's offseason thread stood at 5280 posts on 264 pages.

Almost 3 times as much as last year.

Both parties will lose money at some point- kind of like two cars heading to the cliff playing chicken whole wondering who flinches first

Basically, they just meet and hand off paperwork and then it takes the other side almost a week to digest the paperwork and come up with new paperwork.
