And Lawler too so high. Law is soft on Leiter and higher generally on position players to me at first glance
Those guys in that industry over-rank SS consistently it seems. MLB Pipeline is really bad about doing so.

I guess point is if he omitted 42 intentionally then more power to him
I just don’t like Cole omitted and probably give honor to every time 42 is mentioned. Baseball and the world messed up, I get that and my mom lived through separate water fountains etc in Bama but 42 is not who I worship

Well look at this edit he made.

42. Cole Winn, RHP, Texas

Age: 22| 6-2 | 190 pounds
Bats: Right | Throws: Right
Drafted: No. 15 in 2018

Previous ranking: Unranked

Winn was the Rangers’ first-round pick in 2018, didn’t pitch that summer due to his workload in the spring, then threw 65 innings in Low A in 2019, which constituted his entire pro career prior to 2021. Texas still promoted him two levels to Double-A Frisco this past year, making his across-the-board improvement even more impressive – he cut his walk rate by a third, boosted his strikeout rate by 50 percent, and then earned two late-season starts in Triple A. Winn is a four-pitch guy who works 93-95 with a plus changeup that he’ll work to both sides of the plate, while both breaking pitches have improved since we last saw him in 2019, with the curveball ahead of the slider. He was more of a command guy (rather than a big stuff guy) in high school, and now he’s regained that touch and feel while working with a better repertoire. It all looks like a No. 2 starter upside, someone who’s consistently better than league-average for a long time, especially since Winn has such a good feel for pitching for his age.

So Keith Law put 3 Rangers prospects in the first half of his top 100. That is impressive.

I wish they would leave the draft alone, and make up common ground in the areas of the competitive balance tax, the minimum salary, and the awarding and removal of draft picks when free agents with QO are signed.

Maybe a minimum salary will help the tanking
The bringing up guys just to be cheap and very good players priced out is and issue. There are players not picked up who are better than many call ups on clubs.
Sue it is complicated. Bet now the Rangers got in before tanking tax.

I think the tanking is way overblown. Do some teams do it? Yes, a handful from time to time.

I see no need for a team to handle things any differently than the Rangers have over the last 3 to 4 years. There was certainly no reason for them to spend more than they did.

The best thing that could happen, but neither side would go for it, is contraction. That is, unless those teams can move to a better market.

There is just no reason the 10th worst team should have a chance to draft first.

you do realize that the Rangers would be one of the teams that would be included in any contraction talks

We had numerous teams lose over 100 games in the same year. I think it is a problem. I remember when the Astros basically put a AAA team on the field so yes I guess we have a difference of opinion
