I disagree, plus Martinez is just a bridge for the next guys to get ready, Also, I think Otto and Alexy could use some development time as Otto has barely pitched due to injuries since he was drafted, Alexy skipped AAA last year and obviously didn't pitch the previous year or the first part of this year

Plus I always liked Martinez when he was here, would like to see his hard work pay off for both of us

i advocate using Otto and Alexy in the opener rotation. 1 starting the game as the opener and the other being the closer/starter and then the next scheduled game they swap

There have been far more transactions at this point than I would have expected, and also we don't know how many conversations are taking place behind closed doors.

Early there was a flurry. Since Verlander signed five days ago there has been nothing of consequence.

I am sure lots of talks are happening, but I was mainly speaking of signings. JD sounded like he expected us to need some room on the roster very soon, and most likely more than one. Of course, we could have 3 signed by midnight tonight and that would make it seem completely different.

I have to imagine that when it comes to offseason free agency, the situation is extremely fluid. The roster spots was a deadline thing, and having those free means the Rangers can immediately jump on a signing when one becomes available.

Remember - it's theoretically possible that the Rangers do everything right with a FA target and still not land that player.

Or they can pick up two spares from LAD as I'm typing.

Odor would have been a better pickup and he would have been a huge mistake.
