you really think Houston can outbid the other 2?
Depends on who else they have to sign and same goes for the other two. NY has a very heavy payroll.

is there something below zero chance because that's my thinking? but they will make an offer that they know will be ignored like 2 or 3 years at 23M AAV

My feeling is they won't offer the most years or money but that it wouldn't matter if they did. Cole would sign for less years and money to go elsewhere

Yes. No expert but seems like a deal for a guy who has been injured a bit lately with 2 years left until FA would get a lessor starter with upside and a prominent MILB prospect in upper level and high promise lower level prospect. Maybe even Jung if went had an extension preagreed

We have too many holes to make a deal like this and would create more giving away our two best pitchers for a next year expiring contract. Better to get a 2 year rental FA and keep the powder dry.
My little shot in the dark
Our powder is so dry that it has cracks in it.

Maybe not but compared to the Rangers they are Grand Canyon deep

you’re right.

With the way this front office has handled some our players, they better be cheapskates. Not saying that bodes well or anything tho.

There are two kinds of wealth on baseball. Prospects and cash.

Rangers not boiling over with either as an organization. I don't believe the oil tycoons have the same deep pockets or are willing to spend much and the depth of the organization with players in the minors
