i like the concept and doing a 1 time game like this for CFB would be a good idea. however it will be a total disaster if they dont fill up every damn seat.

it needs to be two elite teams with two large fanbases that travel well. im thinking texas-ohio state or something like that

Tenn & VT travel very well, and both schools are less than 2 hours away. They couldn't have picked 2 better teams.

Unofficially, the NCAA estimates that crowds of 120,000 people watched games involving Notre Dame and USC in 1927 and Notre Dame and Navy in 1928 at Soldiers Field in Chicago

And nobody give two shits about that. 100+k of dejected fans..... meh.

It is big and that is it. I am happy for yall that you can get a big crowd of Detroit folk in your stadium.

But seriously, what does that get you today???? Nothing.

even lil ol Oregon @ Autzen brings it better than that place.

a Michigan columnist

"Autzen's 59,000 strong make the Big House collectively sound like a pathetic whimper. It’s louder than any place I’ve ever been, and that includes The Swamp at Florida, The Shoe in Columbus, and Death Valley at Louisiana State. Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die."

Lloyd Carr

"Autzen is the loudest stadium I have ever heard"

You can have 100+k.... But what does it get you besides a number in a record book?:noidea:

When did I say it was louder?

Having the largest stadium does, in fact, help as a recruiting tool. No matter how load it gets in Oregon, the sight of 110,000 people is simply more impressive.

An estimation is not the official record. I'm guessing that estimation has a larger margin of error than 5,000 people.

...especially with all of that extra Midwestern girth. It almost feels like 150k, I bet!

Speaking of that, last weekend I had this like 350lb dude sit next to me. I was super pissed. The seats are only like 20 inches wide. He had to have been taking up 2.5 seats. Luckily we have seat cushions permanently attached to our seats so there was only so far he could go but my arm was basically resting on his fat the entire game. It was gross. I stood most of the time to avoid that.

Holy shit, I had no idea anyone could possibly care so much about a GD attendance record being broken. Is it really that big of a deal?? :wtf:

I had to sit next to a dude like that on the way to Vegas, and he was drinking constantly. It was not fun.

If you're still plowing the chick you posted in the short lived GF picture thread, I'd say you're doing fine for a freak.

You are BoBo from Finding Bigfoot, aren't you.

It worries me that someone as smart as you knows the names of the people on that show.

Guess everyone needs to dumb down occasionally to decompress.

Saw this on twitter. Thought it was pretty cool. Not sure how accurate it is.
