don't have to. Giving credit to SM for making the 2015 playoffs just proved this article was bs.

The team actually made the playoffs in 2015, which was the first season of McCloughan’s two-year tenure.

thats hardly giving him credit ... just stating facts.

There should never be any negative article about the team when the season starts in a week.

we should always want the truth about what is going on with this organization ... regardless if its March, August or December.

I dont view the article as negative ... but honest.

How can we blame Scotty. He was amazing when he was here and the players loved him. Also we lose NT Taylor then cut 2 players who could play that position. Allen screwed the pooch on the handling of KC and Scotty. My prediction is we do well enough to screw ourselves out of getting a good QB in the draft while KC goes to the 49ers.

But the question then becomes, was this misfortune.. or the plan all along??

i agree , but dean doesnt want the truth to be told because we have seen his agenda from 15 nautical miles away .

his narrative is the team has supreme defensive talent and have made enough upgrades to be a playoff team . if it fails it will fall all on KC's shoulders justifying not resigning him if he continues to put up good numbers because he cant win even with improved talent in his eyes

so when an honest article comes out possibly shattering his narrative he feels it should be censored because he wants to pick the next wunderkind qb

if you were to be fair losing both coordinators , firing and smearing your GM falsely , and mishandling your starting qb for 3 years and publicly throwing him under a bus should have an impact on the field . now we have a young starting SS wanting to retire

the truth is this team has 500 team talent and we have added distractions galore to a team that is on the cusp of being a good team but still needs a few more pieces

i had us 10 -6 before we goofed up the qb thing , and our NT takes a dump , and our starting SS turned into a snowflake

now our wr corp hasnt lived up to the hype ,MKD cant get on the field, our new back is just a guy ,
JR has played less then 20 snaps in preseason and is hurt again and i am to take it he will turn into his old self after less then 20 snaps

so sorry if the honesty bites you is your rose colored sun glass wearing ass but the truth hurts sometimes

It is hard to know who to credit. That being said, if two seasons with SM yield two winning seasons, and after his departure we regress, there is a strong correlation between his existence here and success.

The opposite is not true though. If we showed improvement with SM here, and we continue to improve after his departure, you cannot say we were successful totally independent of SM because we were not successful until he got here. No matter what, SM looks good in this.

SM

2005-2007 VP of player personnel, SF was 2-14 before he got there. They made steady improvements talent wise here and were 7-9 with constant change until he was given his next job.
2008-2009 GM SF continued to be 7-9.

2010-2013, Seattle was 5-11 the year before he got there. They went 7-9 in 2010, winning the division and a playoff game. 2011 they went 7-9 again. In 2012, they turned the corner and went 11-5 and winning a playoff game. His final year there, they went 13-3. Since his departure, they just haven't been the same to me.

Then add in his stint here. Teams coincidentally get better when they hire him, I guess. They get better talent and everything just goes smoother. He should get no credit for that. It is all a coincidence.

you cant not give credit to Sm for making the playoff run in 2015. Gruden and Kc deserve most of the credit.

its a negative article to start the season. It gave me the impression that this season is a joke and we have nothing to play for.

I know the truth. You already have your taylor mad e excuse if KC fails this year. I want to see KC play like he is getting paid. If that happens we have nothing to worry about this year.

I could be mistaken, but wasn't it SM's idea to go with KC that year?

IMO is was Grudens call. RG3 was a mess and couldn't run the offense.

OK, but wasn't Sm instrumental in turning the tide in decisions about what to do with Griff?

I thought Cravens was going to be our SS. They are saying mental issues for Cravens who had college football injuries. Of course you are giving SM a free pass on this one. What else is new.

Enough already. Let's all hope for what is best for the Redskins - not winning the game of "I told you so". You have some serious issues. You have this burning desire to be proven right among a group of people that you hardly know. Let it go already & how about start rooting for the Redskins above everything else.

What? I was asking a question. I am routing for my team. You guys put the negative spin ion everything.

Some but isn't that the coach's call on who to start at qb?

Yes on almost all NFL teams......hmmmm I believe that we are talking about one of the exceptions in DC.

Griffin was never properly prepared to play the NFL game, there's no arguing that. Coming to a desperate team, who did desperate things with no GM or QB's coach, cost them drafts picks and NO, ZERO, nada chance that they were going to get a long term return on their investment. This is OLD news, and I'm not going to argue with subsequent posts about Griffin.
