It's looking fucking excellent! Let me break it down for you. Right now the WC has 7 teams above .500. The EC has 6.

Both conferences have one team playing .800 ball, your Lakers (just disgusting) & the Bucks.

But, but, but here's where things shift in the EC's favor, as long as you ignore the #'s. They have 2 teams playing .700 ball (Heat & Celtics). The WC has one, the Nuggets. And while the WC has 4 teams playing .600 ball & the EC only has 3 that really doesn't matter.

Oh yeah & it doesn't matter that as of right now the EC has three teams playing .200 ball (and the overall worst team in the league the Hawks) & the WC only has one, the Warriors.

Add it all up & I don't know what the hell it means other than WC > EC.

When you judge the future of a team, you have to take into account the following (in that order):

1. The current useful roster, the age of the players and their future development potential (for example arrow shows down, Bucks arrow shows up, Grizzlies arrow shows over the heavens).

2. The financials, the size of the contracts and the ability or not of the team to retain the roster... (for example, the Nets who have the worst financials in the league, will have to dump the salaries and lose the players of two out of Dinwiddie, Harris, LeVert or Prince!)

3. The picks and the assets they have in stock who can be used on impactful trades.

You don't say bold nonsense like:

One doesn't either have to be a genius to figure out what happens with the unrestricted contracts of clutch players, where the current teams that own them have the right to match any counter offer (especially after the NBA took action this summer to forbid forced trades and blackmailing happening again after what happened this summer).

It takes a dump one out not to figure what will happen...

Therefore before you make those bold predictions using your "broken crystal ball" again, I suggest the following:

Take a calculator, read and learn the CBA, look up what the future lux tax threshold and apron are projected to be for the teams you "predict" upon, check the team financials for the next five seasons before you post nonsense, check the assets and picks they have in stock and if your calculator hasn't been bought from the same "damaged goods basket" as your crystal ball was... You maybe, just maybe, be able to leave the impossible to predict (like AD or Giannis breaking a leg, or Hutchinson (of the Bulls) winning MVP next season) out and end up with posting less bullshit...

And you don't understand how the cap actually works. You look at numbers and think that teams are incapable of changing things. If the Sixers do well this year, meaning get to the finals, then the Sixers ownership will eat the luxury tax next season. If they don't, then they will blow things ups. It's not that complicated.

They have a nice future, but no way they should be ranked ahead of teams with multiple young stars on long term deals or teams with a bonafide prime superstar under contract long term.

IMO, what they should do, is to only move Schroeder who is the least needed out of their current roster... it's probable that Gallinari would take a lesser annual contract if he'll be offered a 3 seasons extension and Adams is still young... S.G. is of course the one to be based upon and build their future around and of course CP3 can be valuable with the experience he has for the young ones coming...

What they really need to add as 1st priority is a starting wing to supplement the other 4 for the starting roster and then use the picks to build on the depth...

They really are fortunate to simultaneously have a capable starting roster, while rebuilding at the same time!
