How do you think the Lightning will feel if Stamkos basically goes right into Olympic play after the injury? Obviously it's a little closer to home with Yzerman being his boss in both rights...but man, wouldn't that be a bit worrisome?

No doubt it's a tough call for Yzerman, but maybe you can spin it that the premilinary round games for Canada should be pretty easy going for Stamkos (likely much easier and less intense than NHL regular season games). Give it a go and he needs more time to heal, pull him out and put Duchene or St. Louis in the lineup.

Edit: I can't believe the guy is already back skating, Gary Roberts must have given Stamkos some Wolverine juice.

I'll take a stab at this.

Duchene - Crosby - Stamkos
Sharp - Toews - St. Louis
Tavares - Getzlaf - Perry
Benn - Bergeron - Seguin
Hall - Marleau

Keith - Pietrangelo
Bouwmeester - Doughty
Vlasic - Subban
Methot, Weber

Price
Lou
Crawford

My lineup is a bit different. I like Seguin's skating and familiarity with Bergeron on the fourth line. I think Tavares with the Anaheim pair would absolutely tear it up. And I love Duchene's speed on Crosby's line.

On the backend I included Weber but just barely. IMO he has struggled in the last season and a half without Suter. I like Vlasic as a steady guy to play with PK. The top pair is just about ideally suited to international play. I have my homer pick in Methot but I have other reasons. He skates amazing well for a guy his size, would be OK being a PK specialist/7 minute a game guy and he would be the last guy to rock the boat.

In nets I'd start Price and see if he runs with it. Lou would be chill enough to step in if Carey fails but I think a hot Price gives Canada the best chance at gold.

Just my :2cents:

I love Marc Methot's game. He is steady, reliable and can put you on your ass.

If I could throw a homer pick in there, I'd love to see Ryan Johansen between Benn and Seguin. Similar styles. Not overly physical, but very smooth and hard to move off the puck. Or Spezza. They are very similar players as was predicted.

I haven't watched RyJo much this year but when I have he's been very solid.

As for Spezza I wouldn't have him even close to being on this team this year. If the team was picked two years ago he'd be my number 2 centre. This year he's been all offense with some of the worst D of his career. His offensive game hasn't been anything to write home about either. He's still a number 1 centre in the NHL but for Canada he's a number 6-10.

Nash with two goals tonight, could wake up him and win a spot on Canada's roster.

I for one will miss TSN once they lose the NHL and we have to listen to the hacks on Sportsnet/CBC

i was going to say that it would be great if the talent would follow over but thats not going to happen for 3 reasons

1 - the major talent was resigned by TSN for I guess hockey panels only
B - CBC for some reason is so loyal to the morons they have now they wont let them go I mean they openly allow them to take shots at other teams fan bases knowing that they have nowhere else to watch the good games
And 4 - I like lists

He's having hand surgery right? Could be gone for a month.
