It's still hard to believe the Niners got him with the 40th pick of the draft! I think it'll sink in when we finally get to see him in action.

"Work ethic is... y'know... as good as anybody I've ever worked with. He's always on time, calls if there's any issues, always communicative; and he actually does a little bit more than what I ask of him, which is really a good thing for rehab."

The dude's like Monica Seles with his workout grunts. :)

Some random notes: He's one of those dudes who has big stomach muscles. Sometimes those kinds of guys look like they have a "gut" on 'em, but those are the kinds of guys who usually have great core strength for their sizes.

He has huge hands, long arms & he's fast. I wonder if they'll drop him into coverage every once in a while. Looks natural catching the ball.

Just based on an eyeball test do you think Larry Okaye is more agile than the tank?

Agile? No. Okoye actually moved a little awkwardly when I saw his workout; his muscles clearly haven't learned how to move like a football player yet. Raw doesn't begin to describe him; I'd say he's like sushi, but he's actually more like the tuna who hasn't even been caught yet.

Tank's movements are graceful & clean.

I'm taking Okaye in a 20 yard shuttle/3-cone drill. Tank's pass coverage drills were FAR from graceful, which I'm sure is relatively new to him. He can hide his lack of agility when doing drills he's probably have been doing since HS, but when it comes to dropping back and strafing left and right his motion I would not describe as effortless.

For a 274 pound guy I disagree. Especially considering he's not 100% with his knee yet. Carradine didn't even do a 20 yard shuttle or a 3cone drill because of the injury.

Literally forgot all about that

I think this kid is going to be a stud once his knee is fully healed. He's built like a brick shithouse.

On top of that we got a 3rd round in 2014 too.

I'm not worried about that. There are a lot of DEs in the NFL who are rocking a gut and are playing at a borderline elite level (Woodley, Everson Griffen, to name a few).

Exactly, word!!!

What took place in the 2nd round (Tank/2014 3rd round pick) is one of the major reasons why I gave Baalke a grade of B+ in this draft; in addition to the Alex Smith trade. He totally messed up the first round in terms of maximizing that pick, but he managed to trade back from the 34th pick and was still able to land "Benjamin Nanz" AND get a future 3rd on top of that. That was one heck of a move.

Unlikely but could you imagine Carradine, Okoye, and Lemoniar are all hits for the team.

If they lived up to their potential Carradine and Okoye on the ends with Aldon and Lemoniar rushing from the outside would just make for an absolute monstrous front 7.

Heck throw in Lattimore and in a couple of years we might remember 2013 as one of the greatest offseasons ever for the team.
