Ok, Tanaka decided on the bright lights of NYC and Garza stayed in the NL Central and signed with the Brewers today. So the question now Dodger fans is this. Do we make a play for Ubaldo Jimenez or do we stand pat and wait to see what Beckett and/or Billingsley have once spring training starts.

I think I lean more toward giving Han Ram his extention and rolling the dice with Becks,Bills or the kids.

:agree:

No need to deal in any sort of "lesser than" pitcher at the moment. Just wait till the break, and see if they can pick up someone from a team going the seller route then.

Lock up Hanley ASAP, if you let him go to the FA market the Yankees will be waiting there to either snatch him up or drive the price through the roof.

I agree. Han Ram has stated that he wants to be a Dodger for life, so get it done Ned!

I would agree with the sentiment expressed by those here. Let's see what Beckett has to offer. We don't need a 5th SP for quite some time. We have options in house.

We need Hanley and, given the question marks about Kemp, possibly another OF if it looks like Kemp can't make it out of Spring Training.

There is time to see about Kemp and the pitching question. Now is the time to wrap up Hanley.

I'm not high at all on Beckett, I would love to see Zack Lee get a crack at it & I also believe Bills will comeback strong this season.

I don't think Bills will be a factor until late this season or even the start of next season. I won't be surprised to see the Dodgers sign another SP during the next two weeks.

Maybe the Dodgers can work in a 6 man rotation at some point next season to give Bills more slack.

I don't see us going that route, if you do that you're taking away starts from Kershaw,Greinke,Ryu, unless you take it away from only the 4th & 5th started wich still could make things complicated.

Always liked him. Local kid should do well. Not sure if he signed a one year or minor league contract.

Just a temp for the Dodgers in case Beckett and then Billingsley dont get back. Gives the guys in the minors more time to develop.

The Dodgers could have done worse than Maholm. I hope he gets a chance to pitch. Not expecting much, but neither are the Dodgers. It will be interesting to see how Beckett looks.

His name isn't Capuano so I'm happy.

Maholm is just going to be the same that Capuano was last year. He'll be mostly out of the pen, but also available to start a few games if needed.

I prefer a 100% healthy Capuano over Maholm, but it's really not a big deal. Capuano hasn't been 100% healthy basically ever, and Maholm has been quite durable over the years so it's easy to see why the Front Office decided to go this route. Hopefully he can keep the ball in the yard at Dodger Stadium.
