I think we go close to 10 (4, 40, 15 guaranteed for all but behavior?). I think for a non contender to get him it would take 12, maybe more. He may very well get that offer. At that point we'll see what his priorities are.

I think you're right that the idea that you get him on the cheap is kind of a pipe dream.

Yeah he could push for that. Talib could push for 9-12 but obviously on another team. I believe N.E. knows they own the division and don't have to spend big money on this particular position. Logan Ryan has showed flashes, and the organization could get a cheaper CB as well.

It appears their MO is spending big money on offensive linemen/offense and acquiring multiple draft picks.
They don't really care about the secondary

They haven't had the opportunity at a corner who can be elite, though. The difference talib has made for this defense this year is worth paying for IMO, and I think they do it, especially if he doesn't demand to get paid on the level of a Revis or Sherman.

johnathan joseph from the texans signed a 5 year 48 mil contract when he was 27 in 2011. With talibs off field issues he should be had for 8 mil a season. If he gets over 10 that would be ridiculous.

8 to 9 mil for a guy who is a strike away from a suspension isnt worth the risk for us you would that for talib but balk at that for Rak ? a model citizen gets less but a criminal gets more ?

We will have a pro-bowl roster this year BUT the difference is hopefully we will get younger guys who actually fit our system.
