Funny how so many "experts" are saying Talbot to Philly just isn't right. I think for the cap hit this is a decent signing. 3,4,5 years from now it will still only be $1.8. My only concern is his durability. Maybe one of our Penguins friends can chime in on that. He apparenltly plays balls out on every shift and plays bigger than his size. Not good for a long career but fun to watch night in night out.:bump2:

Hard to tell what you get as far as production. He plays hard in big games for the most part, but rarely shows up on a score sheet. I think you will like the attitude, but he was getting to much for the production imo. I liked the guy but would rather have Kennedy for the same price.

Max Talbot is the exact type of player we were lacking in the playoffs.
And to get him for less then 2 million a year is a great move

Been away at the beach since free agency started. I never liked him as a pen but can learn to like him now I guess. My problem is the production. If he is suppose to be our 3rd line center, 21 points is not going to get it done. Maybe Betts is getting moved?

I think he is 4th line and either he or Betts will go to the wing. I can see he and Betts working the PK together. Not sure if Holmstrom, Nodl, Testwuide, Kalinski fills out the 4th line.

talbot gets under people's skin like carcillo did only better and he plays the game like lappy.

so in other words, we have lappy's replacement and carcillo's replacement all in one player and minus the boneheaded penalties of carcillo. plus he can chip in the 10 or so goals carbomb was capable of. so all in all, a smart move.
